That is cool! I am finding Hoodoo fascinating at the moment. If you know a little about all the various streams that have influenced it you can look at the spells which have resulted and see how practices from different parts of the world were combined together to produce them. Geeky perhaps, but it gives me pleasure! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I left something out. I don't know if you are familiar with how vegetables etc. are canned in mason jars. These are glass jars with screw on metal lids. You boil them in a pot which gives an airtight seal. This is what preserves the goods.

If you are planning to try this it would serve you well to cut fingernails a bit of hair etc to stick in the jars.

You will want to can several jars this way. Bury the jars in places they will not be dug up or broken.

I have never tried this but a cool Voodoo Shaman in Georgia told me about this. I knew this guy for a little over a year before I moved to NYC. He is a Native American. Has an NIC # instead of a Social Security #. His tribe is one in Florida that is off spring of the Seminole tribe. That tribe in particular is half black. Because the Seminoles were mating with run away slaves.

So this guy was a Voodoo priest and a Native American Shaman. He was in his mid 50's and quite impressive with his knowledge. This little Hoodoo trick I got from him.

What do you think the significance of the urine is?

The urine "personalizes" the work.

My theory on why urine, especially, is because you can get a lot of it to boil. Any "personal" body fluiids such as menstrual blood, semen, vaginal fluid, saliva, blood, etc.--well, how often can you get a mason jar full of those other fluids?--hmmm? A jar full of urine is the fastest, easiest and surest collection of a "personal" body fluid.

For those who don't care for handling body fluids, the "earthy" or "musky" scented herbs (vetiver, patchouli, and even sandalwood) can be used as substitutes.

Why urine..... um. Because it is easier to come by than blood or menstrual fluid?
Also, btw, can you post the original spell/ hoodoo method up in this specific post? I can't seem to find it.

If you're not afraid of a little pain getting ahold of blood is pretty easy. If you need to fill a hole mason jar with your own blood thats a pretty extreme ritual. Perhaps take a little blood and dilute it with water.

.... lol now I'm curious XD, what can you do with a mason jar full of your own blood? I'm trying to figure out what spell or ritual would require that much; lol better keep juice and cookies on hand XD.

Well, you could make something similar to a Vodoun (is that how u spell it?) guarde jar. You know, the old "put my soul in a jar, set up barriers around it, and I'll be protected from bokar (sorcerers). *lol* XD

The only problem is that too much focus and too little blood generally don't equal successful ritual.

Vodoo is with blood. Hodoo is without. Hodoo works damn skippy without any blood. Its not necessary usually.

Peace
