Bym replied to me numerous times, both publically and privately, with valuable and grounding advice; he was always wise, always humorous, always gracious. This is a great loss, and he will be remembered.

Expect nothing, or you will get caught up in the future and not pay attention to the present. Just do the practice diligently, do it because you enjoy it, do it because you believe in it. Don't wait for results, don't wait for it to happen.

QUOTE(palindroem @ Jun 18 2010, 04:54 PM) *

The infrequency of my visits to SMF lately simply compounds the feeling of loss.
I'm crushed.

I'd like to just echo these words from my heart as well.

--------------------
MonkMan418
---------------------------------
"It sometimes strikes me that the whole of science is a piece of impudence; that nature can afford to ignore our impertinent interference. If our monkey mischief should ever reach the point of blowing up the earth by decomposing an atom, and even annihilated the sun himself, I cannot really suppose that the universe would turn a hair.” --- Aleister Crowley

“We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special."
--- Stephen Hawking

Therefore, God is a monkey.

I had no idea that he had passed. It's so eerie to read through old threads and think that he's gone, but at least his words and impact on the lives of those here will live on forever. . .

I just wish I'd been active on the forum before now, it feels like I've missed a chance to speak to him. I'm sorry for those who knew him well, and I hope you're coping with the loss (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

QUOTE(+ Kinjo - @ Jun 18 2010, 10:38 PM) *

With great regret, I would like to notify all members that Bym aka Allan Atwood Jr., one our forum administrator has passed away on 3rd May 2010 at 56 years old.

He is sorely missed and has been a friend of mine ever since he joined SMF in 2005. His dedication and commitment as an administrator to the forum has been exemplary and there is so much gratitude for the time he had given here, despite his months and months of illness, endless bottles of painkillers and being bed ridden, yet he still managed to volunteer his time and thoughts for hours on end to help members and so willingly gave countless contributions to the forum.

Bym, your valor and true kindness will always be honored and will always be remembered.

Rest in peace my friend.

You will always be in our heart.

Orbituary

For all members who had been in contact and had known Bym, you may leave your condolences here by replying to the topic.
*** Thank you to Vagrant Dreamer who confirmed the news, instead of me who does not have the heart and the guts to confirm it myself.

A belated condolences. I just came accross this old post and when he was still here I was a guest reader in those years. For anyone who remembers him please light a candle in memorian starting today and please remember to light a candle on May 3 in remembrance. Some days ago I had a dream about a man standing next to...... As I was writing this post I remembered my dream. The candle is alight it is daytime here. Rest in peace. Condolences.

just got back to the site and am shocked and saddened by this news Bym was always there to held when people needed him. He helped me a
lot from the time I needed help describing what kind of magic and what phenomenon
I was interested in, and most when my computer died and when I got it fixed I wasn't
able to log in finally I messaged Bym and he was able to help me remember the right
password which I thought I had changed already. Bym was a great admin and loved
discussing everything magic and psionic and everything else I have seen in his posts'

Rest In Peace My Friend
you will be missed
Sincerely Syn aka Night

RIP BYM.

You showed me patience when I was a young guy learning Magick and had no idea what I was doing. I took the brief lessons you told me and I accepted them and I am glad I did. Always will be missed.
