Has anyone here read any of his books? He strikes me as the "real deal." I'd be interested to know what others think.

I've read a number of Mickaharic's books, if you have question on one in particular feel free to PM or post it and I'll answer as well as I could. Overall he's one of the better authors out there, this is discernible by the book length, the books are not packed with filler and fluff, he makes quick, astute observations then moves on. His perspective is more along the lines of witchery, hoodoo, religion so his books are indeed more grounded in reality as they're more aimed at improving quality of life rather than the ability to throw lightning bolts from your fingertips.

I've read a few of his books. For the most part, they were good. Practice of Magic was a bit rant'y. Century of Spells was interesting, but not one that stayed on my 'regular use' shelf.
Spiritual Cleansing is spot on. Its coverage of personal cleansing techniques is very useful. I liked the discussion of what make a good (appropriate) "professional" magician.
Magic Simplified is just an outright training manual for work in astral magic. Its on-par with Bardon (even feels a bit like his read).

Spiritual Cleansing I find is a good book and I have used some of the things mentioned. Even if you just read the sample pages at Amazon you can take notes from those pages.
Not everybody buys books so taking notes is an option.

I have found what he talks about cogent and applicable to produce results. His focus on practical results oriented techniques and the way to accomplish this is refreshing a midst the piles of theoretical works out there. He is one of the few author of whom I have attempted to get a copy of every written work.
