Someone hung themselves too ... its real bad shit ... why do you want to do this ... I thought real magick was about love and caring for each other and trying to gain in unity ... but this is forming barriers between us all .. sick

I suppose after enjoying a dark spirit, you would appreciate more of the angelic types and would have a keener awareness of your own place in the scheme of things.

And no, at this point, I think I won't be going there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fie.gif)

Hmm let me get this right, your experiences were bad with certain beings and you choose not to work with them, so you call those who do work with them sick?
Saying the person hung themselves because of the magic is sort of like saying the kid hung himself from listening to too much heavy metal music LOL. The fatalities from magic are less than the fatalities from car accidents.
Also talking about stereotyping, just because you had a friend who used one of these beings for black magic does not mean that is the onlly thing they are called for. Each being has a specialty. I have yet to call one of the "demons" for a work of black magic, and I have been calling them for quite a few years now.
Also, you may perceive them as evil, however that is just from the Christian or biblical standpoint. I have seen some amazing things happen as well, things fly accross the room, sudden healings, people getting past life long issues etc.
I have not had negative experiences with these sorts of beings personally, well neither have I with angels for that matter.
However, it is not your place to judge others, especially in a forum thread that discusses these sorts of beings. Take the dissrespectful aspects of your posts elsewhere.
Yes, real magic is about love, get with the program (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

as someone that works with daemons on a regular basis, I can say that most do not know about their energies, purpose, etc. It's interesting how many witches, ceremonialists, sorcerers, Wiccans, etc. don't subscribe to Judeo-Christian belief and mythos, yet many believe in the Judeo-Christian views of demons. Most so called demons were gods in various ancient communities. For example, the demon Ashtaroth used to be the goddess Astarte. So just because you see the word demon doesn't mean it's "evil" or bad. The word demon has similar origins in the word daimon, which meant something along the lines of inspiration, guidance, etc. Research Greek mythology(correct me if I'm wrong) to find out more on the original meaning of the word daimon/demon.

Hmm I read this post and it reminded me of a philosophy class I took last semester on the truth of good and evil. An interesting idea was that Evil exists to raise Good above itself (not intentionally) to show Good as the higher purpose. While without interference or interaction between the two the balance is naturally maintained because evil is self-destructive in a cycle of destruction and regrowth.

I am in full agreement with Athena's earlier post.

[RANT]
People are far too caught up in the duality which has pledged civilization since the introduction of monotheism. A so-called "eternal divine conflict between good and evil." Their path is the "Royal Road" to eternal reincarnation, and a never ending sleep of the damned. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mf_popeanim.gif)
[/RANT]

Regarding the Names and Rank in the Infernal Region, I fail to see the value of any "spiritual" research coming out of the christian church (especially anything after Nicea 1). The men and women may have devoted their entire lives to the study, but [at best] their core reasoning is all skewed by a fractured system of belief based on pain, denial and the socio-political enslavement of others.

Kings? High Council of Demons? Dukes? legion commanders? Princes? Princesses? Lieutenants? Counts? Chiefs? All, the invention of a belief system, desperate to try to recreate the universe in its own image and likeness. The utter bullshit gets blacker and blacker the farther down that you explore the catacombs of the christian and islamic mind. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fear.gif)

Go outside on a clear evening and gaze up at a physical universe which is currently between 13 to 25 billon light years in diameter. Does that look like something which would be produced by a vampire god who constantly needs to have his ass kissed (err... worshipped)?

Demonic being are evil?Maybe, but looking from another perspective so are humans.I mean look what kind of people exist, far more morbid than any demon. All beings are created from light and dark, we cannot past judgment to an entire species beacose some are negative. If you are careful and if you acept some harm for greater knoledge, than Demonology is the righ path.I have been dealing with that branch for some time and as you see I am still alive and well, but far more filled with knoledge than before...

Im usually not an arse but you really need to do research before making comments like that; no offense. Im not trying to be rude or anything, but the post was about information on Demon names, which all happen to actually help the magician even for white magickal purposes.

Next time know what you're going to post prior to criticizing beings that happen to have lived aeons more than you.

I would not recommend the work with demonic pictures. The problems with them is, that they are already interpretations of someone. But in fact, demons (like every other entities) appear always in a certain and individual form. But the real energy of a demon is in my humbling opinion not determined by forms or mass; so there cannot be a picture describing the essence of a demonical energy.
The list of the demons in the beginning is quite interesting, but I'm wondering who made this list. Is it of christian religion or by someone else?!

For the people asking where this comes from, there are 72 names listed...
I recognize them by name, but with 72 listed, where do you think it comes from?

anyway, in my opinion working with the goetia is actually very similar to working with the necronomicon. Both can make a 'working' magical system that does evoke actual beings... yet both are fictional. Figure that one out and you progress to the next level in ritual evocation.
