Something Odd During Meditation And Concentration Options

When meditating there is a time where I try and focus on "sounds" in general. Now lately when I have gotten better with concentrating on these sounds and nothing else... there is a certain "level of hearing" which seems like a sharp beeping sound, almost like a different "Stage of hearing". This is very hard to explain. I do these meditations at 2am so everyone is sleeping, there are no sounds other than my breathing, but when I focus, I just hear this "beeping" sound. Now the thing is, when I focus on listening to this beeping "level of hearing" for a few minutes (4-7), my ears begin to feel a sharp pain and "close" in a sense. The first time this happened (3 nights ago), I was frightened and thought I was going deaf. Now the interesting thing is, when I keep listening to this "stage of sound" as if coming from another plane of existance, I realise hearing voices whsipering. I cannot make out the words the whispers say (but maybe this is because i've just begun hearing them).

Could this be my clairaudient "astral ears" hearing from another realm of existance? prattling of dead spirits? another spirit trying to tell me something?

Any ideas?

Beats the hell out of me, but I'd keep doing what you're doing and start taking notes. Does anything become clearer? Do you start to hear one specific sound that overrides all the others? Do images start appearing along with the sounds? These are all things I'd pay attention to if I were in your position.

Infact i'm going to meditate on that in an hour so i'll try what you stated, I can't lose anything. The voices do take a while to start hearing, and its after a few minutes of the sharp sound.

Ive expierenced this quite a few times while meditating, the beeping sound from what I have heard is actually the sound of all the electrical interferance around you (telephone wires,tvs,satellites exc exc) our brain puts out signals like a radio and it picks them up to...so when you have all these signals buzzing around you you tend to get that beeping sound..in fact if your in a quiet room and just focus you can usually hear it without meditating, but then again that could just be me...and as for the voices, I think this is when you hit a certain level of conciousness where you hear multiple peoples thoughts at once, I have only done this a couple times but its like being in a concert hall and being able to here everyones conversation as clear as day...its really interesting but I have never really persued it, Im quite interested to here of your progress (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I do realise that they get stronger and I can hear the voices after meditation on the sounds for a longer time. Do you think these voices are others' thoughts or could they be spirits?

As a general rule, spirits speak to when spoken to, or when something reminds them of their fondest memories. Essentially, they react to stimulus akin to that they experienced during their first existence. So, in an area like mine, where I live across the street from a graveyard, sometimes I'll say something or make a noise that sets them off and I'll hear them talking amongst themselves, or to me. Most of the time it's a minor inconvenience, but it is possible.

If you're completely silent, I kind of doubt they're spirits unless they desperately want to get their message heard.

Infact I have raised my connection with many dark spirits and speak to them via telepathy, clairsentient feelings, and with my actual voice, esp. during meditation. At the time where I was hearing these voices, I was speaking to these spirits by means of telepathy and thoughtforms, though I didi not concentrate long enough to understnad what they were saying. I did first think that it was only my mind, but I realised that it was too real (almost exactly if someone was whispering into my actual ears physical, except for the vibrations).

Well then that solves that. I'd say it's errant spirits or wayward messengers delivering a thought to you. If you were communicating with somene else while this all happened, they might have been sending a messenger rather than appearing directly to, or speaking directly to you. I myself hold many connections with the spirit world, and this is often the way of things with spirits who feel themselves "too busy" or "too important" to speak with me. Sometimes I'll receive a message hours, days, weeks or months after I've sent my initial comment or inquiry. Correspondence with these kinds of spirits seems overrated, mediocre at best. To me, and only me, of course.
