Are these two texts the same, ''Spagyric''s being a reprint of the older, ''Practical handbook''? Review on Amazon says they are but if one has more information than the other I'd rather buy it than the other.

Practical Hanbook of Alchemy

Spagyrics

Have taken an interest in Alchemy after reading Mark Stavish's book on the topic, would like a place to start once I've finished with my time in C.M, really interesting stuff.

Peace

Yes they are the same book. The second one is the new edition with a new cover. I have it and it is very good. Also check out Alchemists Handbook by Frater Albertus. Classic in the field.

Bought three books, 'Spygarics', the a.handbook and 'Real alchemy' out of all of three as a primer I've found that 'Real alchemy' has been the most engrossing although 'Spygarics' will probably prove to be the most useful, 'A.Handbook' would be more up stream of the rest perhaps, will take a bit of swimming around to get there.

Brilliant book; http://books.google.co.uk/books?hl=en&id=s...KZpzew-mmVASVlQ

Also goes into mineral and metal works where the others leant away from it, didn't know that alchemy was such an interesting field.
