Hello one and all, my name is Del but my mystic name is Kaiyes. Don't ask me why but I was drawn to it and I guess it kind of fits (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Anyway this is my first time posting on this site so please be gentle...

I have a problem, which in some cases everybody has a problem. But mines deal with my zodiac sign. My birthday is coming up and it’s ruled under the Sagittarius sign but for some strange reason I never felt like I was a Sagittarius so yesterday I decide to do some research and just to my knowledge there is another zodiac sign. Yep, its name is Ophiuchus. It falls right at the end of November and the beginning of December. But the world hasn’t followed this up because of the Tropical Zodiac which follows the 12 months in the year.

For those who don’t know who Ophiuchus is let bring you up to speed…

Mythology

http://www.schools.keldysh.ru/sch1216/stud.../ophiuchus3.JPG

There are several mythological possibilities for whom the figure represents.
The most recent interpretation is that the figure represents the legendary physician Asclepius, who learned the secrets of life and death from one serpent bringing another some herbs which healed it (Asclepius had previously tried to kill it). In order to avoid the human race becoming immortal under Asclepius' care, Zeus eventually killed him with a bolt of lightning, but placed him in the heavens to honour his good works. The involvement in the myth of Chiron may be connected to the nearby presence of the constellation Sagittarius, which was in later times occasionally considered to represent Chiron (who was more usually identified as the constellation Centaurus).
Another possibility is that the figure represents the demise during the Trojan War of the Trojan priest Laocoön, who was strangled by a snake or a sea serpent after warning the Trojans against accepting the Trojan Horse. A suggestive statue in the Vatican Museums depicts the tragedy.
A third possibility is Apollo wrestling with the Python to take control of the oracle at Delphi.
(This durive from the Wikipedia encyclopedia,)

I’ve heard rumors that he is, in egyptian mythology, Imhoptep and was a healer in that form. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/egypt1.gif)

Regardless of the myth, if this is the truth, then I question the value of my Zodiac and element. I was ruled by fire since I was a Sagitturiaus but since this new Zodiac came into play, then what am I ruled by now? My planetary alignment was Jupiter but since this new Zodiac came along then what is my planetary aligment now? Hell the funny part is I can’t even read a horoscope because I don’t have a zodic to read. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif) I would completely understand if somebody have already brought this to attention. I just figured somebody out there would know what I’m going through and relate and tell me what should I do. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Thanks for reading…
Kaiyes

Though this reeks of prophecy and fanciful imaginings and is probably controversial
I will say that I have often felt this number ringing through my mind as it is somehow related to the zodiac as you speak. As if there is somehow 12 things, perhaps beings along with a 13th, special one.

Perhaps something I just picked up from a television show or movie, but will say I have spoken with others on this and cant ignore certain intuitions, so for what its worth good luck and thnx for the info on that, very interesting

I am the Light. In me is no darkness.
Free am I of the bondage of night.
Open thou the way of the Twelve and the One,
so I may pass to the realm of wisdom.

12 apostles 12 tribes 12 zodiac

Makes me wonder a bit

based on the constellations the sun travels through, there are 13, but it was amended to 12, and anyway it is all screwed up by precession and the bloody hand of beurocracy - "60 years ago when the international Astronomical Union said these are the official constellation boundaries" and "One tidbit of "astronomical" information that most people seem to know is their "sun sign." But few people know what it means. Fewer still know that it doesn't mean that at all, or at least that it hasn't for the past few thousand years." - http://www.griffithobs.org/SkyOphiuchus.html

in the moon sign zodiac the 'blue moon' = 13 moons per year, and the 13th full moon would be under the hidden moon sign

"For more than half a century, whenever two full Moons appeared in a single month (which happens on average every 2 1/2 to 3 years), the second has been christened a "Blue Moon." In our lexicon, we describe an unusual event as happening "Once in a Blue Moon." This expression was first noted back in 1821 and refers to occurrences that are uncommon, though not truly rare.

Try and be more independent, dont worry that you dont know, there will always be things you dont know, all we can do is play the cards were dealt to the best we know how

If you are asking if you are Earth, air, fire or water, then knowing what you work best with comes from practice, if you are asking which one you are according to your sign, then look on any astro site for the groupings.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/offtopic.gif) Kaiyes, many start out on a path and find that they change it some years later, maybe and often many years later; having a path is not so important as enjoying what you are doing right now.

It may be that you don't find a path as such but find a writer that you like or a way of doing things that you feel more comfortable with and this is exactly the sort of springboard that often leads someone to finding a path that fits even if they don't totally accept all of the ideas and ways of it.

Finding a path was a big concern of mine right up until I was in my forties, once I let go of that struggle and allowed myself to just explore and try things out, it was only then that I found that I was really enjoying a particular kind of practise that I realized that I had found something that fitted me like a glove.
