lilit refers to a *type* of proto-sukkubus wind maiden. lilitu is the plural form of that word, and was the word for 'storm' (ie- a bunch of lilit's having a wild time) a suffix "u" is a plural suffix in the sumerian era cuniform.
That said, much later on, in babylon (same area, just thousands of years later) "Lilitu" had come to be personified as a singular proper pronoun, the name of a 'storm goddess'. So there is cultural drift of meaning over time here. Lillith is very likely originally based on or modeled after Lilitu. Although 'most' of our lore regarding Lillith comes from the alphabet of ben sira, which is a comparatively modern european text (800AD) and as such is of questionable value in interpreting much older lore. Sort of like the keys of solomon don't have a lot to do with solomon, but have a renaissance period origin vastly distant from ancient hebrew mysticism.
and just a cautionary note to those who may be interested in Lillith... in bringing up Lillith with "vampirism"... it is worth being very cautious not to be influenced by the mythology of vampire role playing games. these games often do look for actual mythological basis of some sort, to lend their game an air of realism, but do be careful not to mix them. (this isn't directed at anyone in the thread, just a general pointer to readers of the thread)

This is interesting, though I'm curious. I've been able to practice different forms of energetic vampirism without the actual problem of it (withdrawal, a lack of internal energy et cetera). I've worked with what you seem to describe as Gelal. It was a pretty strange relationship. He isn't exactly like LIlith at all, which I've definitely worked with. Just, more, why vampirism when you can just you know for example, sleep 8 hours, or eat some high carb foods and such.
I basically agree.
to answer the question at the end, I think that yes sleep can infuse one with more 'chi' etc. in fact i think it is an important part of the sleep process. but I do not feel that everyone is able to come by chi naturally, in sufficient amounts.
basically what you did, was take energy without needing to, which i would call a "drain", but I wouldn't say that makes you a psychic vampire, because for a psychic vampire "need" is definitive (and limiting).
the only other part of the definition is that they do, consciously or unconsciously, take energy form others via metaphysical means. (which actually excludes whiny people who bask in attention btw)
why not take energy from other sources? compatibility issues are the most likely culprit to answer that. but beyond those 2 key definitive bits, psychic vampires do vary somewhat in most other details. like why the need? or exactly how the feed? etc. So compatibility problems is only the most likely reason. it would also explain the original need to a degree.
