Heard those were serious works for suicidal individuals, but I'm studying the Black raven by Faust right now. Having problems, the edition transcribed the sigils and pentacles extremely badly and It'll probably take me hours to learn how to properly copy them (much less understand how I can draw power and put concentration in them). Obviously I am not insane for the Grand Grimoire (some people claim they have had bad experiences by just sleeping next to it), but just curious on whether anybody here actually studied them.

No, I haven't . . . but I am curious, what edition of the Black Raven are you using?

1990 Karl Hanz Welz version. I know this is a forgery but the material (as in the key of Solomon) is edited from older sources (as in all grimoires). Why aside from that you asking?

To answer your question I haven't used either of them in practice. I'm more of an armchair magician or scholar than a practicioner. So I've read it and I even it in my bedroom but I sleep fine. Maybe its because I look at the grimoires as books of Knowledge not just power. Are they dangerous? You bet, but it depends on how you use them. A gun is just as dangerous. Its your intent that determines your actions which determine your reality.

hi

I have used the Black Raven of Faust. I have also used the Grimoire Verum, Dragon Rouge/Noir, The Sword of Moses (angels of wrath and conjurations of the sword) Praxis Fausti, Lost books of Moses, Libellus Magicus and Liber Juratus.

In fact, In my last ritual, I combined all of these. It was done on Christmas Day 2006 at the same time as a goetic summoning from the lesser book of Solomon.

IF you would like to see photos of my rituals, go to my flickr account which has 200 (the limit to upload free) at the moment. I have also dedicated an entire Myspace Account to my magical works. I started the account in midOctober before Halloween so I could post photos of my conjuring circle, which I made over Halloween on there. I also wanted it so I could corrispond with people and post blogs about my work. My myspace freinds are mostly magicians or occult practitioners, such as Mr Duquette, who did the same thing and also has a myspace page.

You can find the myspace page at the URL:

http://www.myspace.com/TheEleventhMoon/

or look it up under my title name "JEZABELLE"

and there is a link to the flickr site on the profile page front. However if you cant find it or just want to to flickr directly, the URL is

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jezabelle/

And you can search for the User Name, jezabelle2006 on the flickr site to find the photo stream, also.

That has photos of my work, from Xmas day.

In answer, I would say:

Use the plates of the lost books of Moses which corrispond to the signiture seals of Faust's Black RAven.

Use Fausts conjuration of the circle and his citation of spirits and his dismissal.

Use the Lost books of Moses for conjurations (quite lengthy and very helpful) of each of the Archdukes, use the citation of Angels and Dismissal given in the same chapter. It says in it Praxis Fausti, if you have any doubt.

There is a great deal more. Im actually trying to write a book right now about both the Tarot of the Infernal ranks and my experiances in conjuring. Its a Black Rose Tarot, with the seals of the Goetia and Archdukes and the book is called Ars Tenebrae.........

Obviously I cant post the entire contents of the Tarot and book here.

But you might be wondering how the other books come in. If you look at the photos and read the blog on the myspace Jezabelle page, this will explain alot.

But I can say that the LIber Juratus has in it the Sigillum Aemeth that Dee used. I based my conjuring circle on it, fundementally. That book explains the magical doctrines behind the sigillum aemeth and by extention, my conjuring circle. Its similar to the lesser book of solomon. It has a list of the goetic spirits and their zodiacal dominions.

The Libellus Magicus has direct conjurations of the infernal hierarchy. There is not much else in the book, but it definatly makes up for what is missing from other books.........the conjurations of the Dragon Rouge mostly are informal and rely heavily on the mention of various saints. This is not the same as the holy names. The Libellus Magicus gives 4 solid pages of conjurations specifically for Lucifer.

The thing that I found most valuable about the Grimoire Verum was the Seal of Lucifer and the Triangle of the Art, of Scirlin. These are very helpful in practical practice.

I used parts from each book to make a whole. Im still looking for more books, since Im trying to write a bibliography to my Ars Tenebrae book and finding that in some regards the availablity of contemporary works from the 14th on the subject of sorcery are not abundant.

If you wish to contact me on myspace about this, I dont mind. Alot of my blog is about research questions and its a work in progress.

The infernal tarot "of faust" is not really a Tarot deck, but it contains the planetary rulerships of the Archdukes and the planetary elemental demons, which is interesting. As I mentioned in my last post, I would like to include these in my BlackRose Tarot, so its interesting to find a "deck" like this. Even though it is not technically a Tarot deck it is obviously taken from the Black Raven. If you actually intend to use the spirit seals, doing so with the correct planetary rulerships might be a good idea.

It would be great if somebody could let me know more info and background on this since the more I know, the better I can communcate with the spirits and by extention, everybody else when I publish.

Nice to see someone putting some real effort & resources into their practices! I'm impressed to say the least.

Your level of committmen is reassuring in this digital day and age where the monkeys all want instantaneous gratification. At least you understand to get you need to give. That's good. You're going to go places in the world of the Occult with that attitude and commited mindset.

Keep it up!

All the Best,

I have studied The Lesser Key Of Solomon (the complete one including the arte goetia, the art theurgia goetia, the art pauline, the almadel art, and the ars notoria. Note- the last two are very difficult to use), The Greater Key Of Solomon, The Grimoire of Armadel, and The Sacred Magick of Abremelin.
