Faeires And Jinn, whats the difference? Options

whats the difference between faeries and the jinn?

i'm trying to work with the fetish, and charm a jinn into it, and i notice a resembelance between the jinn and the feiries (fire-eis)

i've got some energy in the stone, but it is more fairey than jinn - they are both fire?

what about elves and the rest of the fairy kingdom, and why does this draw me so...

also just found this on elves relationship to fairies - more of the same 'word changing for the same thing' that happenend in every society as each made the word their own (like akenaton=>moses)

not much real info on green path or faeire wicca - that may be where i'm heading, dunno yet

this heathen paradigm is a hard slog - i miss the eros of the goddess, cause a normal child only gets agape

but there's nothing like being on the bleeding edge of hands-on, in-the-field research into the old ways!

hows this - fairies (and elves) are earth, jinn are fire - sounds right

so who's air and water? sylphs? dryads? trolls?

any ideas?

is there another name for the fiery jinn like sylphs or some such?

I associate Elves (woodland dwellers), Dwarves (mountain dwellers) and Trolls (solitary cave dwellers) with aspcts of Earth; Fair Folk, Sprites, Sylphs etc with Air; Undine with water; Jinn and Goblins with Fire.

Also, the jinn themselves can be broken down into different types.
For example the Afrit jinn is of fire, the Marid jinn is of water. Then the Ghul Jinn seems to be some sort of astral shape-shifter, while the Sila Jinn is more of a basic spirit. I don't know much about jinn, but that's what i remember from some reading on the subject a while back.

From what I've read jinn are suppose to be creatures of smoke and fire. They can be good or evil. I also came across some text which said the devil might even be a jinn. If you want to learn more there's a lot of Arabic lore relating to them as well as angels.

The Jinn are a shifted people, a lot like faeries or elves.

Christian sources call them the demon-spirits and lump them in with the demons, but Islamic sources call them djinn and recognise them as being fire, but after meeting some of them, i see them as more elemental - possibly even four or five different types of jinn.

Some call them fairies or elves, but i'm beginning to think the fairies, elves (alf), etc. are all just jinn - jinn is also genie and genius is someone who is either a reincarnation of, or is being taught (non-physical stuff, cause they don't know physical stuff) by a jinn.

As for 'doing stuff' (at least here on earth) - they don't seem to be much help - i mean they can only do the same base magickal stuff we can do - they don't have a physical form either, so they're limited in what they can do.

As for seeing them - some say, at least for first meeting, for at least a week or two prior wear mostly natural-fiber clothes and remove all metals (what about fillings in teeth and other medical stuff that can't come out?), purify youself inwardly with good thought (i try to keep holding a visualization of perfectly clear pure water becoming ice and back again) and outwardly with a ritual bath, go to someplace deserted where you will not be seen or overheard, sit dead still (with no music, drugs or alcohol - completely pure and thinking pure thoughts) and call with all your heart for the jinn to come, make it the greatest longing in the world for you to see them, and if you are patient enough they will come - do not move when you see them or show tons of surprise and start clicking pictures - imagine meeting strangers in a mall that you heard crying out longingly to meet you, and you came to see what the problem was - they are going to be very wary - give them your name and ask a name from them - then just talk as you would to some humans you just met for the first time (normal or magickal? of your own age or talk to them like kids?) - always remember they don't need you nor do they care what happens to you, and they have their own problems (see if you can help them with something i the physical).

As for their helping you, it depends on the problem, i guess - especially if its something physical then i doubt it - if its something on the other plane then yes they could probably help, but you would have to spell it out exactly for them cause they don't think like we do - and image yourself being called to 'help' someone, you'd want something in return - and they don't use money, so an evil jinn (someone who has had contact with humans and taken energy, blood or soul in exchange for services) may want more for their services that you should be prepared to give (which is the source of the christian 'pact with demons' malarky).

They are truly great companions with much to teach if you let them, but as employees i'm afraid nothing would ever get done and it would be a constant battle and a bigger mess than ever before.

update - seems i was working with the lower, weaker end of the jinn population - not suprising considering my paraidgm and my approach

i keep getting pm's about how to work with or command or evoke and 'boss around' the jinn/jynn/ginn, so i thought i'd save some future energy and answer it here on the forum

i am certainly no expert when it comes to the dJinn, in fact i am the least of those who know nothing at all about it!!! -i never did evoke or forcefully command a high dJinn to 'do stuff', but respectfully drew close to a young or lower dJinn and merely spoke with it mentally in mutual companionship (and never made it 'do stuff', nor would i, nor for that matter would the young dJinn have done it anyway, as the young dJinns don't really care for humans as we are messing up the planet and they were maybe here first?)

i merely proved by my undirected work that the young dJinn could be contacted and that their level was about the same as fairies or elves

i hope this answers the future questions and no offense whatsoever meant to anyone
