I have stumbled upon an interesting thing. It's called a Six-Demon-Bag. I've never heard of one before and only know that it is a talisman that has six stone or clay rocks with runes/sigils of these [currently unknown] demons. It is supposed to provide luck, and when you pull out a stone, you can use it as some type of charm. I was wondering if anyone else heard of it or how you would go about creating one. Thanks

I know of something very similiar with the use of Bat's Head Root for the charms, but using a demon or demons had nothing to do with it.

I would say it could be pretty safe to do, considering most studies I have come across with the evokation of demons is generally of those who aren't...evil (Goetia for example).

If the charm lists which demons you are using, look them up and see who they are. If you feel even remotely uncomfortable with any of them, the I suggest not doing it. You can also switch the demons to beings of your chosen preference. Magick is versatile, don't be afraid to play around with it.

Pragmatism rules! Enough of that.... I recently ran across a website of an aquaintance of mine (Moloch) that uses a Sorcerors Bag. It would be the same as a grisgris bag or even a Celtic shamans Crane Bag. About the Six Demon aspect I have no idea...but I'll certainly keep my eyes open! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Some grisgris bags smell to high heaven, but dang, they work wicked good.

If I'm not mistaken, the six demon bag is the thing Egg Shen used in the movie "Big Trouble In Little China." Unfortunately, that's all I know...I would love to hear more about this, though, as I find this to be rather interesting.

Would you mind telling us where you heard of it? I'd like to dig into this a bit more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I heard of it in passing in another occult forum somewhere lost in the wind and then there was mention of it in a Dungeons & Dragons manual. I know that they will take real magick items and put them in the game, so I was wondering if it was based on anything "real."

I googled and only came up with World of Warcraft and a band called Six Demon Bag (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000008.gif)

Hmmm...You know, I think I'm just going to go ahead and work out how one might be created, then do it myself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

After all, I want one and I can't find any real information on it so...I'll just invent it! -wonders if he can patent stuff like this-

Well, I guess that if I was to make one, my first question would be which demons? Are there six archfiends that stand out among the others? Do they in some way correspond to the elements? From what I've heard, the bag will provide luck. When you have need of something, you would take out one of the stones/tablets in the bag (which each are inscribed with the sigil of the demon) and you would use them as a type of charm. When the bag ran out of stones/tablets, then it would be done and you would have to create a new one.

As far as I know this is a World of Warcraft item that was based in part on the Big Trouble in Little China film. I think any historical reference besides that is non-existent. It's a pretty neat idea though! I'm just guessing but i think he probably stumbled across it being discussed in a warcraft forum(there's tons of them). But I found a few posts in them that discuss almost exactly the description he is giving along with hit points, damage done, and other d&d terms. Here's a link

As I have never seen Big Trouble in Little China, I have no idea. I was thinking about some possible demons, and I figured on Asmodeus, Mephesto, Belial, and Leviathan for starters. Anyone know of any other good Archfiends or "Prime Evils"? Then again, does anyone know if the Chineese or Japaneese traditions has "elemental" style demons, a.k.a demon of wind, fire, water, earth, positive energy, negitive energy?

Well I don't know about elemental demons in particular, but the Chinese do have a good deal of demons that can be worked with. An ex of mine (who worked with the Chinesee systems) found a very old book in one of my fave bookstores about the Chinese demons. There were at least 100 listed in that book, with into on what attributes they had etc. So there is a lot that can be worked with from that system if someone knows what they are doing.
They might be a little less patient then the ones we are used to though. It seems the 72 from the Goetia etc. must be quite used to relative newbies trying to evoke them without enough prior knowledge LOL.
