hello all,
I'm new here and I have a quick question. When asked in the necronomicon to summon Anu, Enlil, and Enki on the last three days of the moon which ritual should I use? Do I do it in my own toungue or should I call upon the watcher? Thank you all for your time.

Greetings 'blackcat',

This refers to one of the mysterious missing pieces of the Necronomicon. Somewhere in the Preface Simon mentions that the manuscript did not appear to be complete.

You can make your own invocations if you wish. I do not feel it will be crucial to gate walking however.

I have never conjured them on the last three days and have never had any trouble gate walking. I have an invocation of Enki and an Invocation of Anu. Probably in the future I will make an invocation to Enlil but I wait until I feel divinely inspired before I try to compose such things.

My point here is that its ok to alter the ritual slightly as long as you stay within the major guidelines.

If you want to make your own invocations to the Three Great Watchers that is great.

I have gained a lot on a spiritual level from making invocations to Enki and Anu.

I would think you would also.

Peace!

Making up a spell or conjuration is an odd thing to do but can be fun if it is successful. As far as I am concerned it NEEDS flow, so to make it like a song/hymn is kind of the goal I set out on when figuring out the flow. Also the point of the conjuration needs to be expressed as well, detailed if you like--if it disrupts the flow to be detailed then skip that.To have images on hand during the recitation of the conjuration does help, but in the case of the deities above , ENKI is the only one images are available of.

This is all suggestion and may have been useful only to I in reality.

Laterz....

I suppose you could make the others sigils and meditate on them until a worthy image comes to mind. Because that would be unique to you and divinely inspried. Just my 2 cents.

I feel this to be the most important part of the gate walking ritual. For Simon to leave it out when he obviously had access to the maqlu tablets is nothing but irresponsibility for the welfare of the people who use the book.

In the Malqu it was very important for the priest to call upon these three enity's before ascending to the stars. First divsion opens with an invocation to the Gods of the night sky, then introduces the heavenly court of the skygod Anu and the Netherworld of Ereskigal. Second divsion in the Ritual is in the cosmic and divine area of the Enlil Circle (the Ekur). The third divsion is Shamash (and Girra), and his Daughter of the morning sky (goddess of dreams) along side them is Ea's (Enki) temple Which introduces Ea and Asalluhi (Marduk) in the Subterranean Apsu

Anu is very important to call on. Because if you get in trouble when walking the gates saying "anu u antu iŠpurữ inni" which translates "Anu and Antu have sent me" may get you out of it.The prayer the Malqu gives to incorporate the priest into the company of Anu and Antu is Thus:

Standing on a rooftop:

QUOTE
Raising up a broken palm frond and mastakal plant,
I offer water to the Gods of the sky.

As I purify you yourselfs,
May you purify me myself.

At the request of the priest, the Gods of the sky prepare him, induct him, and introduce him into the presence of Anu and Antu.

A good Incantation for Enlil is

QUOTE
Enlil is my head, my face is the day;
Urash, the peerless god, is the protecting spirit leading my way.
My Neck is the necklace of the goddess Ninlil,
My two arms are the sickle of the western moon,
My fingers tamarisk, bone of the gods of heaven;
They ward off the embrace of sorcery from my body;
The gods Lugal-edinna and Latarak are my breast and kness;
Muhra my ever-wandering feet.

This will protect your whole body during the ritual and lead your way.

A incantation I like for Enki which gives you the voice of Enki is

QUOTE
O EA, King of the Deep
I, the magician, am thy slave.
March thou on my right hand,
Be present on my left;
Add thy pure spell unto mine,
Add thy pure voice unto mine,
Vouchsafe (to me) pure words,
Make fortunate the utterances of my mouth,
Ordain that my decisions be happy,
Let me be blessed where'er I tread,
Before me may lucky thoughts be spoken,
After me may a lucky finger be pointed.
Oh that thou wert my guardian Genius,
And my Guardian Spirt!

Now you are a direct agent of the divine.

You could probably substitute a fern for the palm frond, and I have heard from different scholars that Akkadian mastakal is `daisy' and also heard it may be hemp.

Just trying to help gate walkers. They need all the help they can get (IMG:style_emoticons/default/oops.gif)

also do not be surprised if the gods show up in full form. Those rituals are very powerful if done right(I am afraid to give the akkadian).

Listen, I may sound like a a$%*#!*, but simon and others may give you an objective view on your gate walking. I want you to get down with the Gods to get them into your subjective mind. That will help you more then anything on this path.

To each the Gods seem to present themselves accordingly I believe. Maybe may have been influenced by suggestion but I see the different Gods/Goddesses a certain way/form while another may see something else all together. For instance--I seem to see ENKI in his fishman form quite a bit when I visualize him. INANNA is blonde to me. MARUTUKKU is bald.Others have said different--so does that make my vision wrong--maybe--but I dont think so. The Dieties are abstractions of the soul, their true forms are likely beyond mortal mental processes--so they take a form inside ur mind that is appropriate for them inside of u. So to create an image of a God/Goddess--meditate upon that diety for awhile---taking in all of its attributes and so on---then see inside of urself--what do u see? That is the form the diety has taken inside of you!

This all may be a load of BS--but something tells me it is not.....

Interesting that you mention this. I too believe that the Gods appear in whatever form is most helpful.

I have always seen Enki as the kind and protective father figure, one of the most approachable of the Elder Gods. In another thread a couple of us noted that we also see Inanna as blonde. I even use a pic of the blonde Goddess Freya (Inanna's Norse counterpart) on my altar because that is more how I visualize Her. (The Necronomicon only states that She is "most beautiful," and since beauty is culturally relative, She would almost certainly appear to different people in different ways.)

I have come back many times to this post for the gatewalking. I will post a good ritual for inanna and marduk with hymns from the cruciforms and proper sacrafices to give.
