Thats the thing with selling magic like that, your average customer isn't going to know if it's genuine because it's quality's are only tangible in their results.
Stuff with a Money back guarantees is the only way without a considerably weighty name or a chance to physically see an touch it beforehand..

The groan I made caused people to look at me with concern. The "average customer" does not much care if it is genuine. They most likely hope it is not. Its a nice fantasy, having the power to change your life with a word, but that is all they are looking for - a fantasy. This book and hundreds of other items are just accents to that fantasy. Having power
over their life means they are responsible
for their life and that is not what they want. Escapist fantasies "just make it go away" without any responsibility added. Even if this Marks person blessed them right and good it would not work for the reasons Vagrant cited but also because that nagging feeling that if it works the implications are too intimidating to face.
