QUOTE Mark Chapter 5:1-13
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. Notice something there. That individual possessed by an entire Legion of evil spirits lived and dwelled in a specific place. The tombs. The realm of the dead. These seem to be places of extraordinary power, In my country where many people practice black magic, it's almost always (95% of the time) done in graveyards. Shiva is depicted as a stumbling madman with skull necklaces and smeared with ashes wandering through graveyards from time to time. Osiris, god of the dead- principal deity of Egypt. Can anybody tell me why these places attract so much negative energy, so much power?

Well . . . cause graveyards are full of . . . well . . . dead people. And to us living people, thier . . . well . . . yicky . . . and . . . dead.
Cause a place where there are a bunch of dead people, well it kinda gives that creepy, crawl-up-the-back-of-your-neck feeling . . . and that scares people. Cause a place where the power of death is manifest . . . that kinda reminds all those alive people that they could be next . . and that scares people. Cause when your in a graveyard in the middle of the night and a dead person pinches you on the ass . . . that kinda scares people
And fear is a powerful force . . . or a forceful power either way, that scares people
Creation and death, everything inbetween is simply a poler dream. Except for its equal, creation . . death is the most powerful thing. Everything in between is caught in the flux and tension of those great forces. When your in the field of death, you stand as an expression of creation destined for death. You must feel that tension between your inevitable states. Its a crux of power . . . and the fulcrum on your own destiny.

Graveyards are a constant reminder of our own mortality- death is man’s greatest weakness and vulnerability and thus the location has a psychological pull that results in fear or fascination.
In anthropological literature graveyards are also representative of order… they are cities of the dead with their own streets, avenues, architecture, and of course rules (i.e. rites of the dead, depth of burial, etc.). Most importantly they are locations where the dead are meant to remain dead, and thus order reins over chaos. Necromancy and rituals to raise the dead are taboo infringements on this order and as a result are seen by society as “evil” acts. This, of course, is a broad generalization and does not necessarily hold true for all cultures.
Oddly enough, a graveyard also ensures the life of a nearby city, town, or village. By having a designated location to place the dead- generally away from sources of water and residences- the living continue their daily lives without the threat of disease induced by decomposing human flesh. It is interesting when we look at history and see that the houses of the living are generally constructed with perishable materials (i.e. wood, adobe, etc.), but the residences of the dead and those of the gods (i.e temples) are built of stone, made to last for eternity. All this adds to the lore of graveyards as the physical link between the eternal order of the living and the dead. One last thought, think about the energy that is discharged at a graveyard – the memories, the anguish, and the love of the living as they watch their relatives and loved ones enter this eternal city. Such a reservoir of mixed energies seems like an ideal place to draw external power for ritual – whether black or white.

Greetings, Here is another interresting bible passage: 1COR 12:7-10 7Now to each one the manifestation of a Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through a Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues. Also King James replaced Veneficus (poisoner), with Maleficus (Witch/Magick user). (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
