Grant Morrison- The Invisibles Options

For those who do not know of the Invisibles, it is a comic series written by Grant Morrision about a group of "heros" who go on rediculous adventures living out themselves as Invisibles fighting or destroying,etc the Conspirators. Morrisons original intent for The Invisibles was to create a hypersigil and I am convinced he did just that. When you begin to read The Invisibles you become initiated as an invisible. It sounds rediculous but thats how it feels. Ever since I read the series, my life has started to change and grow in ways it hadn't quite done before. Invisible ways... It's actually quite odd.

This is, however, the invisibles. Weird shit happens all the time.

Unfortunately, since I've been living in mexico for almost 5 years, I've not read a good comic since. I would very much like to read that comic book series since I've seen Grant talking about magick (and he has mentioned that he was the bald guy in that series, and got sick when his character got sick, got laid when his character got laid, etc) on youtube videos from comic conventions and he seems to be very knowleadgable. In a chaos magick sense, I think he's one of the better magicians out there. He's putting out a book called pop magick, and he will explain how to create a hypersigil (I think he's going to write about how he created the invisibles on his site, and how we can do the same to change our lives).

I'm slowly (due to finances) reading through the invisibles trade paperbacks, great stuff although some of the art is bad. I'd never even heard of the Invisibles until last year (and that was through a site similar to this). So far im on the 3rd collection and wishing I had the next. The storyline should replace 1984 as required reading in high schools
Along with the Invisibles I'd also like to reccomend PROMETHEA by Alan Moore great kabbalistic-magick-eye-popping-candy in comic form.

It's really quite a beautiful thing to experience. It blows my mind at the fact a mere comic book can influence one so strongly. It seems to me just to be blatant truth of whatever it is we/you/I believe in. Printed for the masses. And sure, there are plenty of magickal books in print and circulation, but this sort of thing is on an entirely subconcious level, hidden with a story hidden within a symbol hidden within a story.

Maybe all books are like that. Some are more powerful maybe. Personally, I believe the writings of Philip K. Dick are more than just stories. I guess all stories are more than just that. But certainly Philip K. Dick. At least for me.

Promethea is great. i was suprised at how much he put into a relatively mainstream comic.
A great run through some of the basics, and good to see the Crowley/Harris stuff slipping in there.
Think I'll go and dig them out again.
