Im completely NEW to magic and this is my first working! I just want to see if you guys think im on the right path here.
Im in the process of creating a female entity that specialises in bringing back information for spiritual development, and the ability to comfort me and sleep next to me at night. I have spent some time writing down my DESIRE and every little piece of information about the entities talents, crafts and programming symbol.

For the housing, I have decided to make my own. I got a empty necklace case and wrote down the entities name inside many times (in red) I then found a animated picture on the internet of a female which I found particularly beautiful and put it inside with its name printed underneath, also engraved its programming symbol on the back and put it inside the case. Next im thinking of getting some rose pettels and putting them inside the case too. Im thinking also of putting female perfume inside the case but my question is WILL THIS LINK IT TO THE OWNER OF THE PERFUME? I HOPE NOT.

Then comes the process of bringing it to life, which I wont go into but do you guys think im on the right lines? My references to the information im using is ''Creating Magickal entities'' by David Michael Cunningham.

Hope to see what you guys think!

My thing is whenever I read "Im completely NEW to magic and this is my first working!" I think you can't be totally new - you've done some reading, or you are totally new and need to do some reading. Its just I'm of the opinion that before anyone gets themselves wrapped up into magick of any kind they should have spent a considerable amount of time learning and reading about it first.

So you're basically creating a servitor?: (a semi-sentient entity with no physical form composed of your own psychic energy with the intention of doing your bidding under the parameters of its design). As an experiment I think you're pretty much on the right track. I would say make sure you stick to what Cunningham says. I have worked with that author before and do believe him to be the "real deal", not just some crack pot looking to make a buck.

Make sure you define the life span of this creature. I assume this is only an experiment. As such you'll not want it to attach itself to you and start causing you troubles. So make clear how long this thing is to live and make sure you know how to get rid of it if you need to. I would not wrote the entity's name itself. I would have created a sigil representing the name (as well as the purpose of the entity). But again you should go by what Cunningham suggests.

If you own the perfume then the spirit would be linked to you. If you use the perfume of someone else their smell will trigger your memory. Thus your entity will be linked to that person because its scent is linked to your memory which will affect it during its creation.

Yeah I forgot to say that I have the main programming symbol on a scroll of paper inside of the housing. Im gonna state my desire that if this scroll is destroyed with the housing, it will cease to exist no more. I also stated in my desire that the creature wont be influenced by outside forces and will not harm me or my family. I think my only worry is, that some other kind of spirit will inhabit the housing instead of my creation. Cunningham suggested a banishing ritual before the creation but I thought maybe if I just create my own simple banishing ritual that might work with the materials I have? I was gonna use my sisters perfume but I guess thats a bad idea. Maybe i'll find something else. Im trying to symbolise its crafts..for example 'its comfort to me' with rose pettels and its feminine nature with female perfume. I am new at magic but I do actually feel there is some kind of force teaching me, as im not usually this creative! I could have chose to use a simple thing for the housing but something is driving me to be even more creative. Btw thank you for the quick reply!

With that I guess my only suggestion is make sure you don't over complicate it.

I been working on my entity for around 2 months or so now, making the perfect housing, writing my desire perfectly etc..but i think im having too high expectations. i wrote in 'my desire' for it to come to me at night and comfort me, also to bring me information about finding new resources to learning magik. do you think theres any chance it might manifest? i know it wont manifest in the physical sense but im hoping it might manifest in other ways other than dreams, such as touches etc im looking for a supernatural experience, will this happen or are my expectations just too high at the moment?

Well, even though I have possibly the worst track record with constructs of any kind out of any magickian (that is still alive) I can say you seem to be on the right path. I have created and destroyed my fair share of entities, so you seem to be on the right track, although you might not require the perfume or rose petals. Unless you already associate that smell with the entity you are planning to create, or she is associated with roses.

Image, name, housing, and programming all seem present. You might want to cut down the list of her duties, give her just one or possibly two to begin with, then program in the rest as you develop her and she becomes better at her first tasks. This seems to avoid the problem of 'objective overload' that can leave your new pet blithering on the floor in a puddle of confusion (not literally, but sometimes). Also, as parting advice, program in a lifespan maybe a few months or years, it is just better that way so if you forget about her she doesnt poof of into the aether and begins doing random stuff. Hmm nvm about the self-destruct, I see you already have that covered, dang fast posters.

Cute İdea you have there.

İ personally see servitors to be a pain and İ almost always use them in generally unethical ways of practice. İ would say the reason why would perhaps be best explained in analogy.

İ could Kıill a man with my hands; find a artery and sever it or strangle him or if i am trying super hard pull a tarantino and be absolutley disgusting and such. İn such a situatıon a gun would be useful. İt kılls things with the flick of a switch.

But İf İ am to for example be cooking a meal and İ created a faulty robot to help me cook a dish there may be problems. İn the midst of peeling potatoes the machine may jam. Then İ would need to put down whatever İ am doing and fix the machine. More energy being wasted. Then in the midst of the frying the potatoes while the machine ıs sauteeıng vegetables, it again malfunctions and breaks the stove. İ am at a loss and <İ have no other choice but to fix the stove and then go off and correct the mess it made.

The poınt is obvious; it is better to do such things on your own. İf you invest your energy in a creation then it should technically increase your rate of productivity in any real field that you are addressing. The problem is that positive constructs are limited to the function you designate them.

My advice is to seriously go down the the pragmatic and obvious; your own mind and heart. Delving into your worst nightmares and understanding them, healing age old wounds et cetera yield literally hundredfold of the knowledge you could possibly yearn for.

next time you're in the mall or whatever, even wal-mart, there are tester perfumes that are out on the counter and belong to none - get something that doesn't remind you of anything or anyone and is nice to you as this will be the nosey indicator your friend is around

you should also work out a solid method for maintaining its definition and some ability to completely, immediately and totally destroy it, and the memory of it - these things tend to hang around and the more energy you give it the stronger its existence

the only warning, and not even a warning really, that i should give is watch out for possession of your servitor by entity - such an entity may be working with you now to help with the creativity, and that isn't always a bad thing - not like some evil nasty entity, but a slow shift from what you originally designed into something even more real, though invisible, coming through and subtly changing your design into its own, usually to facilitate maintaining the presence of the entity in the physical world, which again is sometimes isn't a bad thing and can be a good next step to a real invisible bff/confidant/lover/teacher/companion/etc - the difference between servitor and entity is an innate intelligence like a person versus a robot and the ability to program itself, to surprise you, and it will have new ideas that are in no way were ever your own, etc - the biggest clue your servitor has been subverted is finding yourself having an argument with it, as a robot would just agree

How would you go about making sure that this doesn't happen? Maybe place a shield around it, or being shields are also thoughtforms, add something in its program to make it resistant to other influences.
