Similar but not the same. Basicaly, RV is when you remote "view" real time places in real time with your counciousness. OBE is astral travelling with your "body double". What do you meam by your double body. Ive read recently one way of becoming invisible to the astral is to see yourself with your eyes closed (not everyone can do this though) and imagine dissapearing. I guess this would be your astral body your seeing.
Not too sure about this right but what I thought first of being astral was we were only in spirit form, what makes me think this is that one night I had some marijuana and my feelings besame very lucid, so lucid that when imagined a huge ball above me spinning and gripped onto it I managed to slide out for a second. What makes me think that is Ive died before at college, once again had some marijuana and went through an over powring 'whitey' as people call it and accidentally let go, passed through my head and several planes before I got to be sitting on a bench across from where I was focusing to sit down, so I was now in spirit form.
