..okay not so quick maybe.

Hello , Im new on this forum but not new to ceremonial magick.
Great forum from what ive read so far.

I have a question on the Supreme Invoking Ritual, specifically when facing any of the elements and drawing the Spirit Wheel. This one has got me for sometime.

My question is that I always stutter when performing this because some instruction tells you to draw it Clockwise (see FraterM's Evoc of Bethor for example)all the way around while the Supreme Invoking on Rahoorkuit.net instructs for Counter clockwise for active (Air/Fire)and Clockwise for passive(Water/Earth). Whats the deal?

I cant find any reference anywhere. What would make sense is clockwise for Active and CCW for passive.
FraterM's SIRH has you doing the active wheel all around but doing the opening and closing of the veil as should be.Somethin' just doesnt sit right.

Can anyone justify doing it one way or the other? Ive searched all the Golden Dawn libers and nothing exists except reference to just drawing the wheel.

Mucho Appreciated.

FYI- If you have properly "Inflamed thyself in praying" either way appearantly works and those being called generally overlook it but still , I want to know the correct justification of CW or CCW and when.

thanks

The traditional Golden Dawn method is the circle is drawn CW, then top to bottom, then left to right, then left angle down, finally right angle down, stab and finish vibration. The only difference between active and passive is the name vibrated. Generally all GD movements etc are always clockwise, never CCW.

The version you saw online is that person's personal adaptation. There is nothing wrong with it, obviously he sees some use in it, but the traditional way is as above.
