(IMG:

I know it is just for fun, but - for instance - when Bobby attempts to make the ball fall from the roof, would it have hurt to depict a gust of wind actually manifesting? Taken within the context of the rest of the show, it would obviously be coincidence, but at the same time one could make the case that the only criticisms leveled at the "witches" is that they're losers, not that their magic is ineffective.
That's how I'd have done it, anyway.
Yeah, it wouldn't have hurt for the soccer ball to have fallen off the roof at that instant, or to have Bobby do a Tarot reading at the beginning that turns out to be eerily right at the end of the program. Wonder if it would have been too threatening for a Fox program to entertain some real supernatural magick occurring; much less scary to dismiss all occultism as immature fantasy than to make fun of some of the hijinks surrounding it
and suggest there's something to it.
Was a bit more irritated the first time I saw it too, but obviously it's not a whole representation of what occultism is or what occult groups are about so didn't bother me as much this last time.
I really like the episode where Bobby is shown to be the reincarnation of a Buddhist lama. Seen that one? I felt they really did a good job poking fun of Buddhism while also suggesting a mystical element to it as well. But again, Buddhism is a little more kosher in our culture than occultism.
