(IMG:style_emoticons/default/uglyhammer.gif) Hello!!!
I'm exploreing aspects of magick, kinds, "styles" t.k.

So. about mantras and so on. I'd like to know something more about the "Holy Sounds", mantras or songs!!!

I understood, that if you combine some, ill call them, words, spells, entities names or something like that with concrete tone of sound they'll become more powerful? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

There was also a line, that you could get some certain powers doing this or connect to something or someone!!!

In buddhism its nirvana where you can get singing them. Gregorian singers are doing it too!!!

If you understood something of what i said, i'd like to hear your thaughts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uglyhammer.gif)

That is a matter of debate. Just chanting matras to aquire a store of 'good' karma is not enough to get to Nirvana. Different schools/traditions of buddhism have a range of opinions on this matter, and I am in no way an expert of the subject.

Sound magick is an intersting area of study. String Theory indicates that the universe if made up of waves at its most reducable level (anyone with a knowledge of physics please step in and correct me), and sound is a wave, so it might be that sound/music is a way of resonating at a very primal level to tune in and even change the reality around you.

Studying sound is indeed interesting, whether it is from a scientifically accepted point of view or a more "Magickal" one. I do suggest studying scientific material about Sound Waves and SuperSonic as well as forementioned String Theory.

From a magickal view you will learn that creation is through Thought, Voice and Action. Let's have a look at the Voice aspect. Ceremonial magi interpet voice as language. So when they perform a ceremonial ritual they hold treu to ancient texts and pronounciations of hebrew, enochian and such.

But how did language came to be? Did people knew words and syllables from the start? I don't think they did. The explenation of Emoto seems more plausible. Nature produced sounds and mankind copied the sounds. Doing so they learned to communicate with one another, albeit in a primitive way.

Language is vibrations of sound, which is energy. Energy can be understood in many ways, by many people. During ceremonial rituals it is not important which language you use, but how you say it. Using the right tones is important and certain languages allow you to reach that sound vibration more easily. simply due to the way you pronounce certain syllables. The Indian Yogi's and Budhist monks often use hymns of sounds that correspond with chakra's like the famous "Ohm". They produce sound vibrations and not words in such a case.

Mantras hold a certain vibration of sound depending on the different mantra's you chant. Each mantra has a different use and outcome due to this. So try as many mantra's and see what kind of effect it has on your surroundings. The only way to learn is through practice. The repeating of the mantra's, and the deep tones, can be linked back to shamanism. They used repeating hits on a drum to get into a deep state of trance. Doing so you'll get rid of certain blockages and act through intuition and subconcious, which allows you put more energy into your actions. Actions such as Mantra singing, energizing and releasing Sigils etc

If you're looking to achieve "super powers" I start to wonder about your motive. Seeing that it is not my place to do so I shall suggest that you have a look into Yogi's and their methods to obtain certain Siddhi. A Siddhi is a "power" such as levitating while in a deep trance during meditation, being able to eat nor sleep for over 50 years and more like such things.

It seems you're thinking that if you can use mantra's that you can sing your way into nirvana. Why go somewhere if you're already there?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) no, not super powers!!! There was said that you could get some powers, abilitys or something like that (i dnt know what, thats why im asking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uglyhammer.gif) ).
And if i want to learn, for example, astral projection, maby i could do it more successfull with mantra's help!!! I find that reasonable!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif)

Where did you get this information? If you could quote some source then we might find it easier to answer the question (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused012.gif)

If I understand where he is coming from then the sources are Yogi's from India. There are many people there that do some weird things to themselves. Especially within Tantrisme.

I can't give a lot of sources from the top of my head, but here is a start.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/3236118.stm and what about the kid who has been sitting under a tree in meditation for the past 6-7 months without having eaten or drank within that period of time. How can that be faked when there are a lot of pelgrims gathered around him as well as media coverage. Budha Boy

There are even stories about certain Yogi's, like Yogananda, whom can astral project and at it's location can manifest himself into a 2nd physical body. Hovering/levitation during meditation or at a later stage float across a canyon. Yogananda's Biography and books onlineBabaji that can create whatever he wants and keep it together by shere willpower. These stories show to me the potential of a human being, but we have to stay skeptical. Certain Yogi's have reached stages of siddhi which go beyond anyones imagination. However the more severe stories still seem out of reach and fictional. Seeing I was not there to see it I look sceptical at these stories.

A few months ago I bought a book about Feeding on Light. Which is basically what the man in the article is doing his entire life. For the time that I practiced it..well it had some nice effects. People think that you will feel weak and die if you don't eat nor sleep as much as science has put as the minimum limit. However I felt very energetic and I didn't get anorexic at all. It is dangerous though if you don't know what you are doing. I personally didn't feel it was my time to do this full time just yet...so stopped doing it till a later date in my life.

So Bomzay I urge you to stay skeptical and cautious at all times. When undertaking such a feat make sure to inform someone about it.

But we're digressing from Sound to "Super Powers". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wizard.gif)

Sounds can be used to make Astral Projecting easier. Monroe institute developed a technique called Hemi-sync. These are sounds that balance the left and right part of the brain. It seems to help people, but I don't believe in it myself. Then again I never had a use for it to begin with. Try a google for Hemi-sync (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Brain Sync

Sound is helpful for me if I am wanting to energize myself ready for a working, in fact for anything, it seems to wake me up but some music adds to that by opening up certain areas of my brain, for instance, some of it makes me more imaginative too, both useful things in magick I have found.
