Into The Ellis, A serious delve into the power of the Linking sigil. Options

For those of you who know what the Ellis sigil is (Which I'm sure will be quite a few considering this is a Chaote board) you might be happy to hear this. Today I have decided to dedicate at least a month of my occult studies completely to working with this sigil. I will come here every now and then to update my progress, as I am keeping a log of my activity. This should be an interesting experience, as I have very little history of working with the Ellis and have heard countless stories of intense experiences, strong primal energies, interesting entities, and just all around chaos associated with the it.

Dec. 17
First day working with the Ellis. Bus ride home from school was spent meditating on the symbol, hard to concentrate considering the amount of noise, so I wasn't able to actually channel any energy, but I did get a good connection. Slight amount of pressure felt in the temples and along the front of the forehead, very strong "empty" feeling in stomach began. Even after the meditation was over, the walk home from the bus stop, I felt, almost a high. Anyone who has smoked weed before will know the feeling, that feeling you get right as you are JUST starting to get high. Feeling was felt for about a half mile walk before dissipating.

More work tonight, I remember back when occultforums.com was around, there used to be talk of the Athililsan, some spider-like entities that lived within the Ellis web. I am really looking forward to trying to work with them, and considering spiders absolutely TERRIFY and fascinate me at the same time, it should be a great experience for me, maybe I'll overcome my fear. I also want to see if it is possible to astral travel through the network of linking sigils. I think I should start smaller though, get a feel for the Ellis before going that far. I'll update later tonight on what happens, I'm thinking an actual channeling of the raw chaotic energy rather than just a little taste.

Another attempt of working with Ellis's energy. Opened with the LBRP, as I called the archangels I felt a distinct shiver on the side I was calling. Sat down, envisioned a deep black Ellis engraved on the wall in front of me. Called out an impromptu invocation to Ellis. Tried drawing energy into me. After a few minutes my vision seemed to blur for a split second, after that whenever I closed my eyes it felt as if the room was spinning. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I called out another impromptu invocation, I gazed at the Ellis on the wall, the green of the wall seemed to darken, significantly. I drew in more energy, my whole body started to tingle. I closed my eyes and asked Ellis to allow me to be a vessel of her power, her beacon with which to taint the world with her chaos. As I opened my eyes the wall faded back to its pale green color. My eyes felt naturally wide open, like they couldn't open any wider. Buzzing feeling in the head. I stood, closed with the LBRP. My arm felt heavy as I tried to draw the first pentagram, but as the ritual progressed it seemed to fade.

No visions today. Damn, I have heard stories of the Ellis giving incredibly vivid visions and trance like states, but no such luck. Oh well, it's only the first day, and I haven't really done anything formal yet. Better luck next time.

Late tonight. 11:10-11:30
20 minute session. Would have been longer but I was interrupted. Opened with LBRP, drew Ellis on my left hand while saying invocation. Sat and meditated, four fold breath technique, trying to draw in energy through the symbol on my hand on every inhale. Nothing substantial tonight. A slight warm feeling on my palm. No banishing performed afterward, symbol wasn't removed. I don't think anything really happened tonight, but just in case, I don't want to banish any energy that did come. Maybe leaving the sigil on my hand will allow for something to happen during sleep, worth a shot I guess.

Took a bit of a break over the holidays, I'm hoping to resume either tonight or some time tomorrow. If anyone is reading this that is, lol. I could just be talking to myself here.

I think I'm going to pursue this for much longer than just 1 month. 2 or 3 maybe, and depending on my results, and how attuned to Ellis I am at the end, I may go on longer.

I did have a dream last night, well, kind of that half asleep half awake thing? I saw flashes of the Ellis fading from black to a deep purple. I don't know if this is anything important, or if it was just my mind being tired and drawing up random images.

Ellis inscribed multiple times on paper and on various parts of body. Invocation stated. Great feeling to just walk around my room over and over again, center of balance seemed slightly off. Light headed at one point. Slight tingling on a few of the sigils drawn on myself. A while spent just staring at the symbol drawn on the palm of my hand, it seemed to stand out from the skin, as if it was floating above. Standing meditation for an unknown amount of time, presence felt directly behind me, shivers running all over my body. Slight visions flashing of deep purple colored Ellis again. Near end of session, slight increase of sexual desire, more off-balanced feeling. Closed with LBRP, even after banishing, still an off feeling in the room. Can't describe it much better than that, just feels, different in here. Ellis carved into desk, I don't really know why, just had the urge to. Maybe it'll be charged eventually through the gnosis people achieve when they're bored and just browsing the internet.

Ended up staying at a friends house, so no real ritual. Did a little meditation right before bed, almost got an astral projection. I'd love to see if the astral is any different if I can project while meditating on the Ellis. Maybe a completely different plane fully infused with the energy the sigil has. No clear cut results tonight.

What book(s) are you getting this from? I would like to encourage and help to the best of my ability. I see you are taking a shot in the dark and it seems others aren't paying you much mind which I feel is too bad, because much of my practice stemmed from when I was around the age of 15. I used to visit fourms seeking advice around that time. If you give me the book name or link me the text I would be more than happy to help you out. This seems pretty interesting, when you mentioned spiders I was all for it. Mostly I use sigils as calling cards for spirits I meet in the astrial, we negotiate terms, I pay up and I give them a time limit for results. If I do not get results in that time period the contract is terminated. I also use sigils for some subconscious work. Chaos magick as a whole is close to my philosophy on life, when it comes to many things be it ritual magick: whatever works, works. Meaning, I don't need a silver chalice when I have a micky mouse coffee mug. Nor will I crutch myself on rings and talismans, otherwise the best time to take me out is when I'm not wearing my magickal apparel! Don't get me wrong, I did lost wax casting and I love making jewelery, I also like wearing gaudy jewelery and house spirits in several artifacts I find along the way. My magical weapon is my body, if I need to I can look like an ordinary person. Nobody would guess I'm a chaos magician practicing the ways of crowley under the moon at midnight, haha! If you can tell me where you're getting your information maybe I can help, from my personal understanding so far it looks like you're headed in the right direction. I do think the main problem is your difficulty to make this work unimportant which can be very hard. Think of the reasons you are doing this ritual and meditate on the results of your thoughts. Then get into the mind frame of un-caring, become devoid of emotion or thought. hold this frame of mind for as long as you can and try the sigil again. Your first experiences with this, Hideout, seem like typical effects you get from esoteric meditation practices in which you feel perculiar energy sensations. You used the Ellis sigil as the focus, but you could get this effect by focusing on anything in the right attitude. But you shouldn't get too mesmerized by it or force it. The type of experience you want to integrate through this kind of meditative or concentrative practice is a long haul. As for the servitor work you should cultivate a clear mind state (gnosis) and in that process direct attention and magickal will to the servitor, as already suggested. If you get no results, don't force it; move on. I work with my own servitors and when I need them, I evoke them out of myself and "see" them overtaking space and if need be fulfilling a command in the immediate present.

I'm actually not getting it from any books Coyote. The Ellis was formed on the old Occult Forums website, and many of the Chaotes there have testified to it's power and similar experiences with it. It originally was a sigil used for linking more chaos into the world, and making the world more mystical and spontaneous. It evolved into an egregore based around the concept of chaos, and, also a network of interwoven nodes (the spots where sigils were put in the world) that linked a large amount of chaotic energies, along with a few wondering servitors that found its power appealing and sort of "moved in". The Athililsan being the most prominent. They (it) serves as a guardian of the Ellis "web". I am still a total novice on the Athililsan, but all the people I've spoken to that have worked with them (it) say that they are a group of spider like entities that have a sort of hive mind. They all think as one, but have individual bodies (or whatever a spirit can consider a body). So, the Ellis is a being, and also a web of energetic hot spots around the world that serve as home to some beings. It is kind of confusing, and extremely interesting, which is why I decided to do this.

Unfortunately, if you weren't around on OccultForums when the idea was around, there isn't much information available. At least not that I know of. Luckily, I was around, and had a few conversations with those who worked with it, and even helped creating it.

Thank you for your advice, both of you. I will admit, I am not a super experienced occultist, I was an armchair magician for about a year and a half, then finally started doing things, but I've never really tried something like this before. Hopefully I will be able to get decent results, and the study may help others. I would appreciate any help you could offer.

Now that Christmas break is over, and I'm back in school, my schedule should straighten out and I'll be doing more regular updates. Maybe not every night though, can't slack out on work senior year right?

I feel bad, I keep saying I'm going to seriously get into it, and I keep getting side tracked, I've been having semester finals and had a lot of work on my hands, but that's no excuse right? No excuses are acceptable. I WILL make time for this, and get regular updates soon.

If your going to keep up with this Hideout I would suggest that you make a more permanent sigil or object to represent Ellis and use it every time you do work with her if possible.This will help build up a link to her.
