They share a common result through different means. Rather than get bogged down in semantics, I try to have a clear idea of what I want to accomplish and a way of doing that.
You could look at them as three different traditions' ways of achieving the same shift in consciousness: but they coexist well in the same paradigm. The way I've seen them generally described make pathworking sound more about visualisation and exploration through pre-set 'scenes'. Astral projection involves an effort to contact some kind of collective unconscious. Skrying mostly refers to divination/observation techniques.
