Bringing New People Options

I was thinking i have been to a few other sites and have posted around in many other magick/occult forums. But no matter what this one is my number one it was my first and my favorite i love the community and the people here are very very intelligent and always so helpful. I also love the topics covered here everything about the site is just perfect. But it seems that the board is dying down some. I was thinking i would start refereeing people here would this be acceptable to the rest of the community? Wanted to ask before doing so. Maybe some other members can refer people as well i would like to see more daily discussion. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/i_triangle.gif)

The board is not so much dying down as it is calming down. There are fewer new people to ask the new-people-type questions. After a certain point it is harder and harder to come up with new questions worth asking. The site therefore slows down. I personally don't mind as I would rather have 5 quality posts a month then 500 "how do I meditate" posts a month. Not knocking the new folk, everyone has been there at least once, but in the years I have been here I have noticed people tend to stop looking after they reach the point where easy answers vanish. That means the forum gets a lot of simple questions and not a lot of hard ones. People can find easy answers most anywhere, let SMF be where they can find the hard ones.


Naturally, you may do as you wish, but just be careful who you send to us. Vagrant Dreamer has already prophesize a rash of 12th degree summoners trying to banish their demon uncles.

I understand your concerns this was mine as well if i sent people it would only be people with intelligence that could help benefit the community. I know what ya mean by 500 post vs 5 this was my concern why i asked the community if i send people it will be people i really think would enjoy it here and contribute well to the forums.

I would refer my friends here, but I'm afraid they would have some beginner questions still as they don't take enough interest to learn the basics properly.

That's a good point. I'll see if I can get a couple of my friends to join up. They have potential. I've already spoken to them and shown them a few things so that they wouldn't go about it thinking that there was only one way to do magick or that any particular system might or might not work for them.
