A while back I performed a divination for wisdom and was advised to pursue a spirit of love as part of my magickal development. So I devised a simple procedure: a breathing exercise with a visualization and mantra. I thought it a good idea to think of it more as an essence, and not a spirit, because personifying things can sometimes bring its own difficulties. I spent about twenty minutes a day on this procedure. After about three days an unexpected side-effect became noticeable: my appearance was improving! And not just my skin, but various facial features as well. Something about my aura changed too, as I was turning heads more than usual. I should say there is a possibility that my skin was improving due to the increased oxygen in my blood from the breathing exercise, which can give a 'glow' to the skin, but then again, I had been practicing breath work for weeks before.
After I remembered a study done by a Masaru Emoto, where they found that water crystals that had received 'good' intentions or 'positive' thoughts were rated to be aesthetically more beautiful than those that had received otherwise. This study was later replicated by Dean Radin using a double-blind protocol (check links below). Then it occurred to me that improving your appearance doesn't necessarily involve invoking beauty itself, but rather invoking something beautiful. Theoretically speaking, this could involve anything that the practitioner considers to be beautiful, such as wisdom, excellence, grace, etc. If the procedure is repeated over a long enough period of time, the continued microscopic changes seem to result in visible macroscopic changes. I suspect that there is also a compounded effect over time, which works like compound interest (due to other studies that Dean Radin has done). So consistency over a long period of time should, in theory, really pay off.
I decided to post this here because I know some people are very concerned with their appearance. And while this technique may not grant the ability to say, change your hair colour, it may be helpful. If anyone decides to take up this technique, please post your results on this thread. I would love to know if this works for others. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16979104 http://media.noetic.org/uploads/files/Double-blind_water.pdf
