I have made a post about help with paganism previously i read into it and it is alot more complex than i realized i have said this before i was raised Baptist christian but i do not belive in such teachings. I believe that there is a god but not (jesus christ). Personally the whole jesus and god thing is just dumb the bible says (kinda summarizing here) to worship anyone other than god (false idol) is blasphemy and going against god. Because there is only one then why is jesus called his son that would make two gods well three if you include the holy spirit. Then again theres the trinity i tried to reason that maybe god is full deity form. Holy ghost is the astral body. And that jesus is the physical manifestation of god. But yet im shunned when i say that jesus is not the son of god he never had a son its just him in human form and we gave him a human name. Is this correct to assume this is one of my biggest things that makes me think christianity is ignorant. I believe there is a supreme god but there are also multiple lesser deitys that rule diffrent aspects (sorry to sound confusing here). I belive in magick and its practices and spiritual development and im very intuned with mother nature i loveee trees the energy of them makes me happy. I belive that every living thing has a soul trees people animals etc. and that after we die that it only makes since that we are reincarnated being that energy cannot be destroyed (we are full body of energy). So this inturn would mean are energy simply finds another place to go again trees animals people etc. Or maybe ascends into the universe and becomes something bigger. So what kind of religion would this describe mostly i aske because im tired of people asking and i say im nothing they say atheist but im not i just dont know a name for what i believe in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/06.gif) . Any help on this subject would be great thank you for any post.

Christians are ignorant? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bruce_h4h.gif) Actually you sound ignorant. The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit are three aspects of one God (like how a person can encompass feminine and male aspects, be a Father, lover and son but still be one person). It’s the equivalent of the Wiccan belief of three aspects of the Goddess (Crone, Mother, and Lover). I found it odd that the Goddess’ son becomes her lover and dies. This aspect is played out via the seasons. (The son is the lover in the summer, dies in the winter, and is birthed in the spring).

Christianity isn’t ignorant it’s the fanatics, which is seen even in Paganism. There are many ways to practice Christianity. For example Esoteric and Gnostic Christianity.
If you believe in multiple gods, then over all your pagan. The whole labeling religions is becoming archaic. Many people I meet have views based on numerous religions. Even if you surround yourself by pagans your personal belief may still be shunned or laughed at. Step one: Stop trying to conform, be strong in your beliefs, and discover then yourself not via people telling you want you are on a forum.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esoteric_Christianity
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnostic_Christianity

Please don’t judge people of a religion based on a few. It’s like people blaming all Muslims for the act of terrorism. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nonono.gif)

The stories say Christ taught that each of us is a son or daughter of god. He showed us what that meant. I believe we were supposed to follow. Perhaps a bit too early? The stories teach he wanted others to be able to do what he did:

Matthew 14:22-33
"Lord, if it's you, tell me to come to you on the water." So Jesus invites Peter to come. Peter gets out of the boat and begins walking on the water toward Jesus. But when Peter takes his eyes off Jesus and sees the wind and waves, he begins to sink."

oh, go read the others yourselves... it can be enlightening... especially if you haven't in a long while (or ever) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Grim789,
Spirituality is an intensely subjective/personal thing. Your spirituality is really nobodies business but yours. People tend to need/want the comraderie or fellowship of a group. In their striving to be needed and loved by others they look to their similarities. It all goes down the tubes from there. I found myself in similar stance as yourself at a very early age. My parents families were, alternately, Southern Baptist Christians and Agnostic Ethical Culturists. I was sent to the Congregational Church when I was young. I soon found myself ditching church and wandering through the local forests/fields. I can relate with trees far easier than I can with people. *sigh* My own small view of theism is one of pantheism. I 'see' god in everything. I do not believe in Jesus Christ as god/son'o'god/emmisary o'god. I think that if he existed he has been 'morphed' from so many stories told and retold that you'll never be able to extrapolate the truth. You see, everyone views the world in different ways. We may agree on some things but not on all things. Belief systems are very funny. Look to Chaos magic theory to see this in a more obvious light. If this whole labelling of your spiritual beliefs is of a high priority then you should find an aspect(s) of one that you can most agree with and 'go-with-the-flow', while maintaining, privately, your own permutations of that flow. People will be swift to judge you and your spirituality if you give them the choice. Don't give them the choice. I'm very pragmatic about this and will survive by what ever means it takes...and I'm not talking about hurting others or murdering them because of a spiritual ideology. When asked I just respond with: "that's personal..." and drop it or change the subject. I abhor proselytizers. One-half my family are comprised of in-your-face bible-thumpers. I just smile and let them rant. Do they actually think that love, compassion and healing didn't exist before Christ? Give me a break! To each their own. Period.
I hope that this has helped by giving you yet another way of viewing a very personal thing. I'm sure that you will figure it out...whatever it is. Be well!

Thank you bym i appreciate the post very helpful. It was interesting that you feel more comfortable around trees rather than people this is how i feel as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Thanks for the help again. I will have to just ignore those who are so narrow minded and belive that every single word in the bible is the absoulte truth and anyone who goes against it is blaspheming. I find this very helpful.

Religion can only help you so far....eventually you have to walk the path on your own terms, in your own way.

Think for yourself.

See the truth.

Rise above.

There is much opposition in this world.......

May fall under agnostic? Which really means you believe there could be some higher force, etc. but it's beyond human understanding. Personally my family is christian but I was never really raised in a strict type of christian atmosphere. Personally I find alot of fault in the teachings and as well consider myself agnostic. However, lately I've been looking at other religions such as Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. I'm still doing research though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dance2.gif)

well met, regardless of your beliefs

there are way too many religions, and multiple versions of those religions, to count - the intent is not to say that one is better than another, nor is it to attempt to understand and taste all, but to find the religion or version that resonates with you - whether that resonance comes from something forced in childhood, or alignments you have made in past lives, or something new that just strikes a cord with you, it is all about finding a religion you can be comfortable with - putting one's trust, faith, energy and hope into the hands of some entity, whether it is called god or satan or trees or whatever, is your own personal version of whatever religion it is

the bulk religions are the drug of the people, and controlled by governments to obliquely control the people

those who believe in the bulk religions all seem to have that dazed look in their eye, a unique tell that indicates the loss of will - they relax their personal will to accept the fate determined by their god, and accept any unpleasantness as having being delivered by that same god, so it is, in their eyes, beyond their control

those who practice magick, even with the help of deity, are re-assuming that control back into their own hands - our fate, good or bad, is what we make it

the most egregious flaw is to blame our god for our problems

pagans bash christians, christians bash pagans, and around and around it goes, and the attention span of a species is diverted by governmental manipulation to yet another non-existent foe to be struggled with to no real end - ideology, race, religion, money, terror or heaven, all divisors of a 'too powerful if they were united' human species - divide and conquer, in the truest sense of divide

read the bulk religious documentation for yourself, and create a religion all your own - the deity won't mind, in fact it will bring you closer

"god cried 'come to me across the water', and people heard that cry, and some leapt into the water to swim across, some ran up and down the shore looking for a boat, some waited while trusting god to carry them across, but some few of us walked across the water to god, for we were old friends of god and realized the water was merely an illusion of separation"
