I know i will get labeled a troll
and people will just get all over me about how
"Magic isnt instant fireworks"

but i'll ask anyways

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS MAGIC HAS IMPROVED YOUR LIFE
SUCCESS STORIES?

i dont mean things like "I can see ghosts now"
i mean ways it has actually improved areas of your life

i know people ask this sort of thing alot
"PROvE maGicK Is Real"
im not asking for that
im asking for legitimate success stories
because sometimes it gets difficult practicing something that you have never heard of anybodys success with.
magick isnt common place
and it's existence is very difficult to believe by nature.
let alone the possibility of being GOOD at it
I just
ya know
want some experiences you've had where it helped.
so it feels more acheivable

It has improved my life, but the improvements are mostly psychological and spiritual. It isn't that I developed psychic abilities and picked out the winning lottery numbers or anything. It has given me a sense of pride or accomplishment that I've learned what I have learned and developed my potential abilities. It has helped me find out more of myself and how to become a better, stronger person. It has answered some of those nagging questions for me like what happens to me when I die, or what is my life's purpose. I don't claim that I have all of life's answers, but I do have some workable answers that satisfy me. There has been a lot of time and effort put into this endeavor, but to me it seems worth it. I could have done worse. A lot of people spend their spare time drinking or playing video games. Actually I've enjoyed a lot of it, although maybe I have a different idea of fun than some people.

first

good post Goibniu

second

i believe very much of the spiritual and enlitening developement of magick, there always seems to be this void that becomes filled with every hard intensive reading of torot, or study of a book (i read quite a bit) even through meditiation and spiritual cleansing( somthing that in magick ( at least for me) works instantly also i have just become overall more satisfied with life and can see more of the " yeah i jus got hit be a Fu**ing car but i am alive" kinda thing, lol
also as for skills i can calm myself quickly and basically anywhere (something p[robably everyone can do but i coulndt always do that)
also i can heal myself and see results almost instantly
when i have a migrain or flu like symptoms i get rid of em in a day ( and i have a horrible immune system, which is why i studied healing magick first) all i do is do a cleansing excersise and bathe in warm water (which i hate wram water lol)
drink my tea concoction has mandarin lemon 1tbl spoon of honey ginsing green tea and the tea inside of a regular tea bag lol (try it the remedy works!)
anyways thats basically what i hafta say, lol
hope i helped some.

It's helped me considerably. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

For the first time in my life, I now feel reborn. I now feel as if over twenty years of caked-on, encrusted $#@! has now fallen away from me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blablabla.gif)

It has help me to fill the void that had been always something I am drawn towards. to understand the mystery of the world. to come into contact with supernatural. this is enough for people who are drawn to these things. It is my art.

I wanna become better and the left hand path is one of empowerment for me.
more than any other path the darkness and the occult mystery has always been appealing.
I am always seeking some hidden truths and ofcourse occult power.

but my sense of self is stronger now. I feel more confident. It makes a big difference. It helped me to be proud of my uniqe identity in a world of moderation it takes me to the places that are out of the normal. alows me to stand as an individual.

these are some of many things. Ofcourse I can now use divinition and do spells and evocations to give me wishes a little bit of push.

the truth is Magician usually end life not rich, wealthy or popular because the art shows them things worth more than worldly needs. I agree that you could get rich and be succsessful this way but by the time the magician gets to this point there are many things more important. anyone agree?

I tend to have great success in love, money, and general success spells. I come from a hoodoo, Santeria, and Voodoo community where magic, curses etc is common place and traditional. I know of thousands of stories of spell work and cursing via friends and family. Not everyone can work magic and that is why many people seek out the help and advice of practitioners. I had a friend who performed magic spells constantly and never had any success, but others can light a candle and get results in a week. If you don’t notice any results in your occult work, I recommend finding another hobby.

Yeah actually Ive done spells and they have worked really well. took abit of time to come around but the results were amazing. I think im the type that can carve something on a candle and it will come true. That was what I descovered during my wicca days. But Ive had tottal falures too. but I have had succsess so that would be a good sign right?

Would you be so kind as to spend some time to give me advice and lead me in the right directions ?
I would be very greatfull.
at the moment I am studing Bone casting with 4 bones.
Next I want to learn poppet magick. I can learn these with time and practice but I have no idea about how to go about contacting the loa for help can you give some advice?

i agree
just like if you can't play like hendrix, you should give up the guitar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nonono.gif)

idk what it is that separates a good magician from a bad one,
but i intend to find it

EDIT: those people you are talking about
what are some similarities between those who succeed
and differences with those who don't
even if it's a small difference,
it could be the key

Whaaaaaa? Comparing magic to playing guitar like Jimi Hendrix? That’s illogical and isn’t even a proper analogy to my previous statement (straw man fallacy). A better analogy would be “I am unable to produce sound from a guitar, thus I should stop trying to play the guitar”. There is a deference between having an ability but not at the level of a master, to not having the ability at all. . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dots.gif) Good luck on finding out what separates a "good" magician from a "bad" one, which to me is a strange concept.

there is no such thing as "no ability"
and that doesnt answer my question
what differences and similarities did you see?

I see life through the eyes of a poet. I understand why things are the way the are. I see beauty everywhere I look. I see the cosmic paradox at work all the time. That is how magic has improved my life.

Of course, it is nice being able to actualize every single one of your dreams. Haha.

'greatly' improved social skill
cured 'shyness'
cured uncontrolled empathy (same thing as above)
eliminated lifelong pestering by negative entities
developed a great deal of personal empowerment, which are hard to easily quantify or tactfully discuss, but ar particularly relevant to crisis situations.
developed a really great capacity to understand & read others (above & beyond verbal and body language)
cured personal injuries & illness
greatly reduced need for sleep (by more than 50%)
greatly increased mental acuity/physical productivity
accelerated cognitive functioning through revamping 'how' I think (measurable as 20 IQ points)
general well being afforded by adopting various ideals & understandings gained through my occult path
attainment of a relationship which means more to me than anything on this muddy rock
more paradigm shift than you can shake a stick at
become for all intents and purposes, master of my own destiny, even if the steering is not completely under control yet.
vastly improved emotional and mental well being, stability, and fortitude

and have learned to let go of "ideals of success" which focus on useless crr..rud that doesn't last but a fleeting moment. Money, status, selfish love, neediness, insecurity, etc. Not discarding them out of some sort of 'sour grapes' but simply unchaining oneself from a singleminded delusional need for such petty trappings. I find that I typically have somewhat more success by *not* pursuing it like a drooling zombie. but frankly any such success is incidental and inconsequential. I'm capable of getting off on a power trip as much as the next person, but in the end it's pretty meaningless. The question is not whether your TV is bigger than the jones'. But whether you are happy, or whether your mind is more vast, or whether you experience peace or bliss, or whether you are loosed from the waters of samsara. none of which come from your 401k or your trophy husband or whether people in the office think you're cool.

all of which is immediately relevant whether you believe in an afterlife or not. and if you do happen to believe in an afterlife, and/or in an incorporeal facet of life, I could lengthen this list quite a bit.
