Amulets Options

Hi guys . I recently acquired Amethist . This is my zodiac birthstone . I want to wear it like an amulet for the protection and luck . Is there a way how to empower it ? Shod I engrave some Gods name on it ?

There are a few points here you may want to consider. First Amethyst is not particular to any one zodiac nor is it considered lucky. It does calm the mind and nurture Shen - Chinese concept, its like the spirit. You can use astrology to determine your lucky planet and use its stone, or pick up Turquoise, Apache Tear, Lodestone,Jet, Obsidian. All popular luck/protection stones in the pagan practices. As to what to put on it, that depends on how you empower it. If you work with a god then use that God's name after asking permission to use that beings power. Some sort of "get to know you" time before had might help this. Just call to the being who's power you want to use once a day. Thank it and give something of the trouble of showing up, then say it time to go and banish after a bit. If you don't work with a god then you can use planets, sigils, runs, or work completely on the energetic side. It depends on you and what you want. If you can provide more information on how you work or what seems a good idea then I can offer a more substantial suggestion.

Im not familiar to magical arts , so I have no clue about pretty much anything and how it works but it is great interest of mine and I would be willing to learn .
As an amulet I was thinking to carry it as an protection against psychic attacks and bad energy . For my zodiac sign ruling planets are Uranus & Saturn and Amethyst corresponds with Uranus .
I do not have particular God or entity . I am Agnostic .

Good! You did the leg work on your ruling planet so that helps narrow it down some. Planetary magick is easy and straight forward most of the time. I am going to recommend three books and you can pick up the one that most interests you. There is a book called "Planetary Magick: The Heart of Western Magic" which is getting a lot of good press lately (and it is cheap), which presents a simple system of planetary magick. The next is the quintessential making-a-taliman book, The Complete Picatrix edited by warnock and Greer. Its an old, Arabic, and poorly organized collection of occult information relating to planetary talismans. If you can invest the time in the system it will provide you with wonderful results. The last book is vol.2 of Three Books of Occult Philosophy. This is only if you want to get deep in to planetary magick, but you did said you wanted to learn. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Now if that is intimidating, know that there are other ways to go about making your talisman - I just like suggesting books. You can for example determine the best planetary dignity for Uranus, cast a circle, and scratch in to the stone a picture of yourself. At a dignified time for Saturn, cast another circle, and scratch protectors (armored knights or dogs, or tanks, or what have you) on all sides. Then your done.

You can determine dignities with any astrology program that has an option for it. I use Cathar Regulus, but other programs should have it too.
