- 2 Pints of port
- 2 teaspoons dried wormwood
- 2 drops clove essence
- 2 teaspoons each of lavender, marjoram, peppermint, sage, and thyme.

Mix and enjoy.

Not being an expert in herbs,But i cant see any psychedelic agent (based on my limited experience) bsinthe contains a psychedelic agent,yet i will try the formul because i really like absinthe,the only drink tht mixes psychedelic effects with plain old spirits. it was a genious who invented absinthe..

quart of vodka
3 oz wormwood
let sit til the vodka turns green

same for mandrake, but it will turn yellow

anise goldenrod and honey for flavor

you can buy legal absinthe called absent and mandrake here

It's not illegal in the states anymore...

Wormwood is the active psychedelic in absinthe.

Absinthe is now legal in the US, however it contains significantly less wormwood extract than the classic 'green fairy' caliber absinthe of yor.

it is not illegal anymore, and neither is mandrake so far
wormwood thujone is addictive like nicotine and overuse beyond moderation damages the brain
of course the high alcohol content damages the brain and also the liver
and the intentional intake of fae thoughts makes one less human

for those that don't know absenthe

1 highball glass, or tall shot glass
1 absinthe spoon or fork
1 sugar cube
1 cold bottle of water

put about two finger's width of absinthe in the glass
balance the absinthe spoon (or the fork) across the top of the glass
place the sugar cube onto the spoon (or fork) - if you have no cubes you can use a sugar packet with the absinthe spoon
SLOWLY drip the cold water onto the sugar cube, letting each drop melt down into the glass before proceeding with the next one
when the sugar is gone into the glass, and the clear green of the absinthe is glowing neon and whirling with brownian motion, remove the spoon
never stirring so as to not bruise the fairy, drink very slowly and reverently, sipping not gulping, cherishing the licorice bouquet
absinthe is not about getting drunk, but slowly consuming the fairy, taking it within and making it part of you, sparking the fairy muse

in the usa, the 'southern wormwood' version is called absent, and is sold, with a spoon, for about 50$ - get the box with the melting face, not the boutique crap

if you mix absinthe with anything but sugared cold water, or chill the absinthe bottle, or drink it straight up or on ice, you will die horribly, for it insults the fairy

if you have no spoon, pre-mixing cold water with a sugar packet and then pouring it into the absinthe is considered ok, but you must confess it to a priest soon

mandrake has honey for sweetness, and makes no green fairy, and so needs no subtle preparation to call one like absinthe

the green fairy is fluorescent, neon, translucent green with no hint of yellow or brown or any other color

"when these monks were trying to find substances that would turn lead into gold, they made all sorts of concoctions, and when it didn't work to turn lead into gold, they decided to drink it instead" - mark, the manager at the union station (and yes they serve absent, but not absinthe or mandrake), and no you can't climb the tower

I am very interested in this. Ive heard that absinthe contains THC or gives a similar high and I love my THC (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Iv.e always wanted to try it but it illegal in Australia pretty much like everything else is illegal over here so I am contemplating making some.

I have to check if buying wormwood is leagal in Austrlaia maybe it is outlawed aswell LOL

first, it is thujone, not thc - and the very high alcohol content gets to you far quicker than the thujone, and the thujone just makes everything look anime if you can hold your liquor long enough and not pass out before you get the effect of the thujone - it is meant for sipping every now and then until the thujone builds up enough for effect, with the body's alcohol content hovering about 1.0-1.5, which is pretty slobbering drunk

the taste of absinthe is licorice to the max, and, in my opinon, the thujone 'high' is the brain being affected by the numbing of licorice overload

actually, if you are on the twilight path (http://hubpages.com/hub/esotericas-gates), we exceed the thujone high by eating a palm-full of dry celery seed from the spices at the grocery store, but celery seed effects the physical body too, so be careful how much celery seed you consume at one time

second, if you are still growing (whatever your age - this includes mending broken bones, etc) you shouldn't be messing with that much alcohol content anyway, as it will screw with your cell development and cut down your liver's ability to flush waste products, so just stick to pot in that case and avoid the really high alcohol tinctures

third, if you still want to try it, check a large liquor store there where you live to actually see if they have it or you can order it - you want the one with the multi-colored melting face on it, everything else is designer bs, and it usually comes with an absinthe spoon and is sometimes packed with a oddly painted glass or goblet, usually around christmas as a gift set

next, you will need some real sugar cubes, and a cold bottle of good water - avoid spring water if possible because of the odd minerals in it - if you want to put on the ritz, use original perrier, the bubbly water from the spring in france, which has no funky minerals to spoil the licorice

absolutely, never will you ever use ice, except to keep the bottled water chilled until it is like a glacier! - to add ice to the glass is to spit in the face of the fairy! - calamity will ensue! - the exceedingly cold water is used to chill the liquor, and also the liquor bottle may be chilled beforehand - keep the opened bottle tightly capped in the dark of the fridge to preserve the goody

pour about two fingers of the absinthe liquor into the glass, place the absinthe spoon on top of the glass or goblet, put a sugar cube on the spoon, slowly, ever so very, very slowly, drip water over the sugar cube so that it melts and goes into the clear green liquor called the 'the green lady', watching it closely until it turns the liquid that neon murky, translucent green color that is called 'the green fairy' - remove the spoon and start slowly sipping, letting the alcohol exit the body while building up the thujone

it takes about 8 hours of slow sipping for the thujone to build up to where the effect is noticable - the walls appear to breathe, the color of everything goes all strange, and your mind appears to be melting and you keep leaving your body (as in obe) - only continued sipping keeps it going, then it finally makes you sick

supposedly addictive like sex or internet, the high alcohol content kills you long before the thujone will - absinthe machines that slowly drip the cold water are all the rage here and there

hmmm this explains alot for me. I dont drink alchohole much at all. I dont like the feeling of beeing sick. its the wrong kind of high for me. to out of control and too dangerous. But I love THC it is so perfect. But I need to buy a Vaporizor bong soon because I dont usually smoke tobacco but when I smoke weed I have to mix with tabacco and my throught has broncitus from a week ago its terrible. Tabbacco is a evil substance....just plain evil (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

With absinth Ive tried it once when a friend gave me some. I thought it felt like really strong alchoole since I only had a few shots and was wasted. when I went home and looked at the ceiling the light was moviing like I was getting bigger and smaller. yes it felt like I was leaving my body. If only there wasnt so much alchohole in there. is there a way to minimize alchohole but maximize thujone.
I pretty sure real absinthe is illegall hear. I think my friend ordered it only but I dont know how he got it through customs.
Its worth a try though. otherwise I will have to make some.Im gonna be looking around and doing some reserch for a whille. Ill get back to you later.
