The 13 Doors, Mental bariers and gateways to knowlage Options

so i have been told by various spirits that there are 13 ish mental doors to unlock before you can be fully aware depending on the paths you take and the way you open the doors [ no im not totally clear on how it works or what it all means exactly lol] so far ive opened 3 the first 3 are wooden this was relatively easy, i did have some guidance and assistance. the 4th is the first of the stone doors and is proving rather more difficult to budge i know i need a key or something to roll it aside and i think the artwork on the front is a clue, maybe a piece of knowledge i need to understand before i can progress further.

my main question though is has anyone come across this idea of doors before ? if so where and any other info you have would be wonderful as Google is coming up dry for mental doors and gate ways like this.

There are a handful of traditions, mostly mystical religious ones, that present a series of inner obstacles and/or initiations; 7 and 13 are popular numbers, and as I hear it some Taoist systems discuss upwards of 108 inner gates.

If you could describe your experiences with the first three if might help elucidate the concept. Also knowing a bit about where the spirit instructing you comes from would be helpful. Spirits can be attached to traditions like people are, and there are lots, and lots, of incarnations of specific ideals accessible as intelligences.

As a concept though, yes, it does exist. The Taoists, Kabbalists, Tibetan Buddhists, just to name the first few I can think of, all have a concept similar in nature to this.

I don't imagine said doors would be exactly the same for any two people.

I used to have dreams about approaching a large wooden door. A few years passed before I encountered a completely different stone door. I never saw myself open them, only prepare to.
