Hey there! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I guess I don't have much to say, I am new to the forums and not new to the occult. I have been a practicing chaote for near on some 20 years. Originally I started out reading the runes, which showed me a little "peek behind the curtain", so to speak. I have been lucky enough to share various times in my life with other spiritual types.

I am, as always, venturing to learn more, that is what brings me here. I am currently looking at incorporating the Kuji-kiri into my work, I have been using hand seals of my own throughout the years and find it to be a good natural expression.

It feels odd to just blurt out things about myself, I am sure we will learn more about each other over time. I hope to have some good chats.

~Luna

Hi there! Glad to meet you.

Please feel free to share, any Chaote with 20 years experience must have some stories, so I can't wait to here them. We have many good topics on the forum and we have been getting more and more on eastern modalities lately. You can find what is written using the search function. When you can access the Forum Library (after 30 posts) you might want to look up Kuji-in For Everyone. It was the first book I used on the topic and found that it is a solid, practical foundation.

--------------------
Cosmic consciousness is devoid of diversity; yet the universe of diversity exists in notion....
We contemplate that reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs,
from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything and which is everything....
The light of [this] self-knowledge alone illumines all experiences. It shines by its own light.
This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.

Hello there!

I'm curious. What exactly are Kuji-Kiri?

Thank you for the welcome and tip Fatherjhon.

Basically Green Lantern, straight from the wiki...
Kuji Kiri on wikipedia
QUOTE
Kuji-kiri (九字切り lit. "nine symbolic cuts"?) is a practice of using hand gestures found today in Shugendō and Shingon Mikkyō.[1][2] It is also present in some old and traditional schools ("ryūha") of Japanese martial arts including but not exclusive to schools that have ties with ninjutsu.
The Nine Cuts
Kuji-kiri01.png

Rin - Power
Kyo - Energy
Toh - Harmony
Sha - Healing
Kai - Intuition
Jin - Awareness
Retsu - Dimension
Zai - Creation
Zen - Absolute

Religious symbolism and meanings

The Kuji-in were created from the gesture of both the hands. The left hand Taizokai represents a receptive valence, and the right hand Kongokai conveys an emitter valence. The Kuji Kiri performed with the right hand are to emphasize the cut of the ignorance of the Maya_(illusion) (that is the deceptive sensory world) through the Sword of the Wisdom. In this way, according to the belief system of Shingon Mikkyo, one would come to create an opening in the daily world that would allow oneself to reach various states of consciousness. Derived from the Taoist dualism, Jaho could be seen as Yin, and Kobudera as Yang.

I use them in the same manner, but also to enact certain things, work with energy or even make a sigil.

Right ... I forget that almost everything is on wikipedia these days (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That sounds cool ... Are they effective at getting you into altered states of consciousness?

Oh, and welcome to the forum btw. It's a little quite here nowadays, but there is a wealth of knowledge to dig into.

I don't use it for altered states myself, I utilise it mostly as execution or the action of an act or plan if you will.

And thank you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I prefer smaller forums, they have less trolls. (That is why I vacated another site)

Hi LunarExplorer

Welcome to the forum. It sounds as if you will be an asset just from what little I have heard so far.

Don't worry. It'll only seem kinky the first time.
