I have been having some issues with parasites lately. That is for me somewhat uncommon. When I look for causes I came up with weak dispersed energy as a possibility. I have been doing a lot of magick recently and at the moment I have thee enchanted items, two alters, a protection type spell around my place, and a spell I thought I killed sometime ago which is still running. I also do small rituals every so often for everyday things that I need an edge on. I have never done this much maintained magick before and I was wondering if it could lead to energy seeping out or being ineffectual and dispersed. Thus leading to little nasties hanging around and feeding of the waste.

In theory I know magick is supposed to leave me with more energy then I expend, but I have a hard time with blockages and seem to form them as fast as I fix them.

I know what you mean, I've had it myself and the instinct to protect your home with a seal or something is strong but can worsen a problem,
cause it creates blockages within you, just try to keep the energy moving,
make something intelligent to organize the many magical processes,
to see them to completion maneuver their energies and decompose them when obsolete, making sure the old inside/outside ripples nicely.
Sometimes it feels like the interaction of the quazi-magical things in my flat reflect their effects on my own mind, concepts finding objects to associate with and drawing to them forces that are lacking.
I don't know how what your home is like, but to balance the chi-flow in some buildings can take quite an effort, flats can be tricky.
I'm sure you will find a way.

My life is practically shellacked with magic on all sides - home and office wards and enchantments, a variety of magical talismans, a workroom at home and an altar at work, etc., and this is not a problem I have ever had before. I can think of two possibilities for the difference though.

It is possible you have magic in conflict - two intentions expressed which are on some level at odds with one another. This can be subtle and tricky, but given that our magical needs are usually restricted to a narrow focus, it is easy to have two spells going which overlap. So for instance, while a social kind of spell to be likeable, etc., and a spell to bring success to one's trade may seem discrete, there is possible conflict depending on the crowd you run with and the nature of your profession. It may not be advantageous to be 'likeable' on the job so much as seen as competent and professional - seeming too likeable could detract from the customer/client/employer's professional respect ("He seems like a really nice guy but I'd worry that he's just too social to stay focused.") Likewise, from the other side of the coin, being likeable may entail projecting a sense of ease whereas being successful at work may entail projecting a sense of focused determination and no-nonsense get-to-it-iveness. (<-- wordsmith)

These are random examples, but it may be worth taking a close look at what you have going on and whether there's a possible conflict of intentions there.

Second possibility may be lacking a common organizing base. This is a little like what draw mentioned, but for me you might say that I run all my ongoing work through a single focus, which in my case is the altar itself, built for just that purpose. An altar in general is intended to be the point through wherein the magician establishes local dominion over the forces he works with, the holy temple in which the magician is equated with Divinity, or otherwise given sanctity of some kind depending on the tradition. My altar houses a focus for the purpose of maintaining harmony, a kind of standing wave through which all of my other work is modified, initially for the purpose of bringing discrete forces into balance during a work of magic. In general the result since I installed it has been subtle, but I have not needed to turn my life upside down in order to attain my magical goals, they blend into my life far more easily - harmoniously - than they have historically in the past. It isn't terribly difficult to work out how to put something like this together, and my specific method won't do you any good, but basically you create an icon of this intention, and attach it in some fashion to the altar itself, as a ritual of it's own. Attendant ritual practices as necessary - mine was a circle, statement, meditation, attachment, and tai chi as I inhabited the Imago of harmony within my holy temple. I have a personal symbol of balanced forces, whatever symbol to that end you were to use would be sufficient I think.

peace

Yes, this is what I am afraid of happening. I guess I am getting another alter or perhaps changing the one I have a bit.

I do try to think all this out beforehand to make sure, or at least attempt, to eliminate conflict. Can I get your opinion on a long term life goal as a organizing principle?
