I will kill for you if you can tell me the name of a really good cd that has a large amount of drumming and rattling, a monotonous beat is preferred but not neccessary.

This might be useless since I cannot be more specific, but I think once I saw a PC software where you can create your own music.

Try "Juno Reactor" any of there Cds are good for magick, meditation or all-out ridiculous dance zanyness. You can probably find some on Limewire to try.
A little more specific ie Trance, Psy-Trance, Drum and Bass or old school ethnic might be a little helpful to know what you are looking for.

Thanks for the links Bym, the last two are interesting but not especially helpful to my quest. The first link pretty much sums up my problem, it's the type of cd I'm looking for but there's only drums no rattles! It's easy to get just rattles or just drums but what about both! I'll take more instruments than just those two but I want a cd with lots of drumming and rattling.

Chaos Crowley I'm looking for more old school ethnic stuff and definitely not most techno trance stuff as most of that stuff has no rattling and too much background going on. Still I'll take anything if it has met the prerequisite.

Thanks Kinjo but I don't think I'm that desperate yet.

Ok thanks Bym, that sacred wings cd looks like a winner, incidentally investigating stuff through those other two not especially helpful links did lead eventually lead me to cd called journey to drum by Kay Whitaker which looks very much like what I want. So if either of these two turn up golden I owe you!

PS Hey if anyone knows anything else feel free to share

I have a CD called, "Shamanic Dream" Ive seen them sell it
on Amazon.com. and its OUTSTANDING for meditation, and drifting off into
an incredible trance state, and the undercurrent affirmation in
the first cut, "so be it". Its very slow, but marvelous for going
to that trance state that you just wanna roll around in it LOL.

I just hit "repeat" for the first cut. My CD has a different
different cover than the one below, but the first cut is the
same as I have on my CD. The first cut is about 30 minutes.

Happy Trancing!

The Foundation for Shamanic Studies has several CDs for Journing. I use the double drumming one myself, have for 8 yrs. It works very well.
here is the link to the CDs:
http://www.shamanism.org/products/audio.html

Here is the list of Cds for journing:

No. 1: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Solo and Double Drumming
No. 2: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Didjeridu
No. 3: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Singing Chorus
No. 4: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Musical Bow
No. 5: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Double Drumming
No. 6: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Rattle
No. 7: Michael Harner's Shamanic Journey Multiple Drumming

I think they are $15 each.

There is nothing but drums or what ever. They are usualy in 15 min sections, start with track one and you have a 1/2 hour journey, second track you have 15 min.

I hope that helps

Bill

I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing you're looking for, but the Dragon Ritual Drummers (http://www.dragonritualdrummers.com/) out of Niagara are great, though more energetic and near-impossible not to move to. Fantastic for ecstatic work.

well moving its exactly what you do in shamanic trance, you dance in your trance, its called dream meditation in some shaman traditions.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yahoo.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wizard.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happydance.gif)
