Pendulum Divination, I can't seem to make it work. Options

The only time I seem to be able to get any accurate information through the use of a pendulum is when my mom is with me. When I hold it is really seems to be more affected by my thoughts. Meaning that if I want an answer to be yes I can generally manipulate the answer (without touching it of course). Could this be because I'm insecure in my abilities or afraid of an inaccurate reading?

Mental interference is easy with pendulums as it is with any 'yes/no' divination. It helps to be with out thought. It also helps to add in more layers of correspondence. Its hard to manipulate all that at the same time.

So when direction speed of spin, motion, cycles per min. All mean something you can get influence one layer but not the rest.

It's my mom that actually introduced me to the pendulum, and it's actually her answer key that I use... there's definite yes, yes but with doubts, definite no, no but with doubts. And depending on the speed and strength is the accuracy of the answer.

I guess part of the problem is I'm not sure what to direct the questions at so I tend to ask myself.. should I be directing my questions somewhere specific? For example, a spirit guide/the general energy that flows through everything in the universe.

Yourself is fine. Pendulums, bones, and things like that all tend to rely on intuition. That is some part of you knows the answer to your question but you need the intermediary of a pendulum to talk to that part. You might also consider coming up with your own pendulum system. If you use your mother's it may work or it may be set up in away that is not effective for you.

I will definitely be taking the time to create a new system. I will also add more layers. I've also been pretty interested in buying a new pendulum so perhaps that'll help make it feel like more my own.
