then again...the main one i was thinking of was Chiron...which is a GREAT example of how the centaur's traits can be honed into excellent skill.
not too many examples of polite centaurs though. so, i would exercise caution. i assume they are much more raw then one would originally suspect. still, i assume because they are often associated with bow and arrow that it can be determined they are practiced warriors with the ability to see whats in front of them, know what they want, and target and obtain an object of desire.
the idea of 'poisoned' arrows could mean that their ambitions can potentially lead them to destruction.
i believe, that they are used (in mythological stories) as an outlet for human desire; after all, the horse side of the centaur would not pillage a town. they are depicted as half horse and then half man, but generally i would like to believe that the horse side of a centaur 'enhances' whatever traits the half man already has (As opposed to the human side being repressed).
