We already do, but take it for granted. it's such a natural part of living that it's no longer a conscious habit. But, learning to pay attention to your thoughts, to your surroundings, and be actively aware of your environment and the people and objects in it, helps. All you have to do is simply make a habit of having a quiet mind and paying attention to everything around you. Normally the only reason you are distracted is because of all the unnecessary thinking going on.
That being the key element, you can use magickal methods to bring about that state of focus in yourself - not necessarily instantly, mind you, but over time - maybe using sigilization, a servitor, etc.
I'm afraid there is no quick and easy method, however - just have to make a habit of paying attention.
