Hello My fellow Brothers and Sisters of the Art:

I have recently (as of several months ago), began a series of internal meditations that re-enact the V.I.T.R.I.O.L formula,.....this in turn led to a great deal of fast-paced tranformative results that I must say, have as intimate a connection to Magickal work, as Yogic Practices (Pranayama ect). I would encourage others who are interested in Alchemy to aquire the book The Emerald Tablet, by Huack. I own several of Huacks works and they have proven critical to my solitary Alchemical Studies. There is also a great Resource found from the www.levity.com site under alchemy. I hope this helps other beginning alchemical students here who, like myself, lack sufficient funds currently for a full blown alchemical laboratory.

pardon me sir Frater. i have recently began the study for my own personal interests, of alchemy. it has began to raise a few questions internally that i would just like to bounce off of you if you don't mind.

1. christians were of the first "recognized" established religions to use alchemy or so i read, but this was a biased opinion i believe considering that alchemy as well as many other "occult" related beliefs were fluent way before the concept of christ crossed any text or historical standing. in fact alchemist can be traced back to Incas as well as some parts of Ethiopia that spans to nearly a millenium before christ is ever mentioned anywhere.

2. alchemy is supposed to be an internal awareness of oneself which directly links one to the "great is" as i like to call it. thus everyone's exp. is different naturally so as to say can any alchemy really be taught. much as i would ask any other religion that claims that the journey is personal but here are some guidelines to go by, i'm curious as to how any human being searching the same as anyone else can really tell someone how to do something as if they hold the answer.(mind you: in my opinion, those who are considered masters of the religion based off of them never did teach us anything outright and thus we listen to them today. they may have had the secrets which were that you must just live life and not care about tomorrow)

3. christians claim to be the basis of the first alchemists that have been the backbone on which science and physics are based off of, but christians now don't really accept science nor alchemy (sorry for the generalization, most i've met feel this way so i can only go off of my exp.) this doesn't add up to me can you help me with this understanding on how something can be started by someone and then disowned as if it never existed?

thanx

Buddha said that we are all of us both a student and a teacher to everyone we meet on our path and that we must be thankful for each lesson as an opportunity to learn . Each holds a tool a key a wisdom to help us. Sometimes it is in their posing of a question that they help us to articulate an answer and consolidate our own understanding. Sometimes it is a profound reflection or some other gem.
However philosophical musing aside, alchemy like any magical pathworking can be taught and shared and learnt . It is not just looking in one's self. Mutual goals can be agreed upon in ascension alchemy and that would be the completion of the Emerald Tablet , a thorough understanding of Hermetic principles and elemental energies and their use and applications , ability to visualise , clairvoyantly view, sit in the now in meditative vision and project into and out of the body to the microcosm and macrocosm to learn from teaching spirits on a Kaballahistic journey. The teachers we encounter are treasures.

I don't believe that Christians began Alchemy either . As Frater V.V.L espoused above there is evidence that the art began in Egypty was practiced by Jewish and Islamic Mystics and Christians might have actually been late to the party but Christian Hermetic Alchemists found in this path an axis mundi to mystica unio and it became extremely popular amongst scholars . I believe as Frate V.V.L states that Alchemy is an ancient art which became more popular with scholars during medeval ages and again during the renaissance. It continues to be an eclectic pathworking which is practiced globally.
