I dreamt a woman lived in a house. She was spraying a can of air freshner in her bathroom. She had ready a tub of water for a bath. The moment she got in the bathwater suddenly became bloody like a horror movie. She freaked out and ran outside and found her dog had its jaws around her child and dragging the little girl around. She beat the dog bloody with the can of air freshner until the dog dropped the kid, and the woman ran back inside to call an ambulance.

Any thoughts.

QUOTE
I dreamt a woman lived in a house.

Dreaming of women from the male point of view represent feminine aspects within ourselves. A house itself, in its most broadest meaning, usually represents the structure of one's psyche, their person as a whole so to speak. The condition of the house can represent one's self image. An old, but beautiful house can represent grandeous thoughts about one's self or mean one has a lot of self pride and confidence. Whereas a delapitated house can represent a poor self image, neglect, abondonment or a troubled past.

Air fresheners ack like masks, they mask foul oders, which can represent negative aspects. An anology would be a bandaid - it covers the wound but it doesn't feal it. A bathroom is often a representation of self cleansing and purification, as well as the desire to rid one's self of negative thoughts, emotions or memories.

The bathtub alone is redundant towards the notions of purification. But taking a bath represents stepping forward in an attempt to rid one's self of "dirt" (negative aspects) in their lives. Blood by itself is one of those dream symbols that varies depending on your culture. It can represent magick, spiritual power, or life and thus taking a bath in blood can represent rejuvenation. It can also represent the desire to live, or have a good life. It can also represent fear, anxiety, sometimes guilt or being emotionally overwhelmed or drained.

In the sense that you describe it, I take it the blood was a negative experience. So taking a bath where the water suddenly becomes blood would likely represent the thought that you cannot in your present state clean yourself of the "dirt" and "grime" in your life. This probably reflects on memories where you felt strong guilt, shame or intense nervousness.

Running from such intense scenes demonstrates both fear and repression. Rather than rationalize the situation the woman in your dreams (your feminine self) acted on an emotional reaction and then fled, or repressed the incident.

Usually dogs represent things like companionship, loyalty, curiosity, obedience and masculenity. But when a dog acts out or is represented as something to be feared it represents an inner, primative/beastly, nature to cause harm or evoke fear. Alternatively an attacking dog can also represent inner conflict or emotional pain. Another way to look at it is that an attacking dog represents the opposite of an otherwise friendly one. So a lack of obedience, lack of faith, masculenity gone ary.

Children represent curiosity and innocence. Since she was a girl, this is another representation of your feminine self. The dog attacking the child would likely represent something masculine about yourself that represses or denies your greater psyche from expressing your feminine self and is perhaps even self destructive - an inner conflict that is attacking the innocence of your feminine side.

By using the spray can as a weapon against this inner conflict you're not really approaching the matter in a constructive way. Interestingly enough, if you could regress back into this dream be lucid, you could actually talk to the dog and get a deeper meaning of what it represents. Really attacking the dog back is like fighting fire with fire, and it actually underscores the masculine aspect conflicting with the feminine.

Running back inside to call for help represents turning back into one's self to find answers and ultimately an end to the inner conflict.

Its important to realize that while dreams can show us deeply rooted and powerful issues that affect us, they don't always mean that. The dream could easily represent something very minor and non-descript rather than a serious and traumatic aspect of yourself. So its important to keep an open mind, but its also important to not read too much into dreams as well, unless you have an entire journal to back up a psychological profile.

Overall the dream seems to be representing thoughts, desires, memories of a feminine nature that hint at the urge to move past an event (or evolve past part of your psyche) that may or may not be traumatic, but an aspect of your masculine side, on a primal level, is preventing you from doing that. You are seeking for the answers within yourself, but you still lean towards a self-destructive, repressive nature.

The most common conflict between people's masculine and feminine sides is the ability to express emotions or a fear of being perceived as weak or gay when they are not. Thus its possible the dream may be showing you that you are unable to properly express emotions or are otherwise afraid to show you feminine side out of fear of being seen as weak, homosexual, or going against your values as a male.
