Question About Archangel Michael, a rather odd situation Options

I'm new to evocation and just starting to learn anything and everything about it. For a couple of days I have been thinking about what would happen if I actually did it down the line and who I would call. I eventually decided arch angel Michael. Yesterday afternoon I started thinking about what I would offer him in return. Actually it became kind of funny because I said to myself well he would be a guest so to speak and if he shows up and I have nothing I'm gonna look stupid. I wonder what he would want. lol Then out of nowhere in the middle of this thought someone says "Apples". I was so shocked I couldn't think of anything else to say other then "umm ok" . I was hoping someone might beable to give me their thoughts on this. Do you think it was an actual answer from him or am I just fooling myself? Is there a connection? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

btw: If I posted this in the wrong place I'm sorry I'm new to the forum as well.

I evoked Micheal recently on two occasions, through scrying, ( I'm still developing the skill, or maybe I just got lucky). I had some frankinsence on the go throughout. Personally, i would choose a solar offering of some sort.

Thanks for the advice. I think I might have evoked him accidentally or was just lucky like you because in all honesty I wasnt trying to evoke him at all. I has been thinking of him for two days on and off thats all. So im kinda of at a loss. But I will do what you suggested and see what happens. Thanks!

I agree with Loki, but from a non-European magical based view, fruit, herbs, candles, pastries, tobacco and water are all appropriate offerings.

He's generally considered the patron spirit of police from what I've read, so being nice to them would be one possible idea. Being law abiding, maybe doing more minor versions of the proverbial "serve and protect," yourself...as that is essentially what he does.

Michael is absolutely awesome if you've got something spiritually icky in your (or someone else's) bedroom that needs removal; from what I've seen, he's usually who the Catholics go to in cases of possession, as well. So truthfully, as well as being a good first time spirit, he's probably one of the best people (acorporeally speaking) who you can make friends with, as well.

For offerings, I definitely concur with Loki on solar themed stuff. I'd probably also consider pink (not true red, perhaps) roses as well; not merely as offerings but also to impregnate your space with an environment that is comfortable for him. Michael is such a friendly, tolerant sort that he probably wouldn't mind at all if you don't do that, but if you're doing something formal and you've got the time, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

I'm guessing that pretty much any of the archangels which the LBRP mentions would be perfect for a "First Contact," type scenario, although Uriel might be a little scary, depending. My own experience was with Raphael, and he's great as well...he's really fantastic if you or someone you know gets sick.

They seem to have different aesthetic themes associated with them. My own experience with Raphael suggested to me that he's very eighteenth century. Michael on the other hand seems to have a Roman gladiatorial type vibe; that style of armor, although a longer sword than a Gladius, rose petals, etc...which is appropriate, since he is essentially a divine warrior.

Apples... sounds cheap and an easy request to fill.... Since nearly 4 months has passed, he probably isnt hungry anymore, but yeah, I've had similar experiences where the answer comes from out of nowhere... and thats cool when it does, its even cooler when they say "gee... buy a lotto ticket" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) and then it ends up winning division 4 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) that has happened to me once.... actually when I was reading up about these things happening... about 3 years ago.

sounds like your ready for scrying.... jump in, the water can get choppy at times, but that just adds to the fun in the end. Learning! Its part of the great work! you learn nothing by doing nothing.

Apples.... I'ld go and buy a few, and call up michael. try and talk to him for a while. No spirit turns down free food... well, actually they do, but most of the time they dont. He may wish to give you some apples (knowledge) too.....

its kinda like the goetic's.... if they say they are.... they probably are. put them to a test, see what happens. if negative, tell them, and dont use them again. We get the slackers come back after a few months begging for a fun job, or usually giving free advice. Michael knows his job is important and knows that people do really believe he will give good advice. If it isnt him, its someone who works for him... and he has a lot of workers.

In our workings, its him. otherwise he sends his brother pazuzu in, or his mother eresh kigal (yeah, you did read that right.). if you get someone, dont knock it. I believe keith418 covered this in a coast to coast about the goetia. God helps those who help themselves, so DIG IN!

The practice included focusing on the southern quarter (since the time of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Michael has been associated with the south, fire, the full sun, but in medieval times --according to Agrippa and others--he was associated with the east, air, sunrise.) I would visualize and meditate on the idea and symbols of Michael and feel in the presence of the archangel and ultimately merged with the angel (during the practice--I didn't go about my daily ordinary life (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wheelchair.gif) in an altered state of consciousness). I did this with each other archangels of the four directions. Nothing about offerings or other rigmarole. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wheelchair.gif)

lol. well, I know he's pretty cool with that. Most spirits don't want anything for their help (very few do, after a while), but that doesn't mean you should take them for granted. Seriously, if your friend asked you to move house for him, the LEAST you expect him to do is give you a bottle of half decent spirits (like overproof rum, or bourbon). treat them as you want to be treated, and BELIEVE ME, they will move heaven and earth for you. Case in point, since I've been calling nearly 20 or so gods/angels/demons to be closer to me, my job life has gone from a crappy store man job, to a job where I was paid to workout (another store man job, but I was heavily into losing weight), and then to a job where I'm now being paid to read books and piss about for 5 1/2 hours everyday.... and work for only 30 minutes!

While we can all try and write it off as co-incidence... well, we study magic, co-incidence DOESN'T exist for us. Do what thou wilt, I wont stop you. I just know what I would like if I was a spirit, and I know whats happened to me in just over a year. its been a crazy ride, I recommend it!

Oh yeah, and before I forget.... just because you havent called them, doesn't mean they're not watching. as for your workings, heck, do what you feel you should do. keep working, and never lose sight of your goals.

In my own paradigm, very large/powerful beings like Michael are essentially able to instance/partition themselves, more or less infinitely. So you can talk to him, I can too, and so can a few billion other people if they want; he can answer all of us.

I don't necessarily subscribe to Uncle Al's belief that there is no such thing as external reality. I think there is; I just think that a lot of the spirits are sufficiently powerful that they can bilocate. Not all of them can, but once they cross a certain threshold they can.

Michael comes to me whenever I ask him to, and helps me when I need it. I think he does this for everyone, and you don't have to be some famous person in order for him to come to you.

I think that there is no time in the astral realm, and that he isn't bound by space and time. That's why he can be with me helping through things, while at the same time helping another person on the other side of the planet.

I would think that if apples came to your mind and you can't figure out how it got there, then maybe that is what he would like in return. Although I think he's been known to do things for people without them giving him something return. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angel.gif)

as far as giving fruit etc in response to visitation (not in payment) - think of the tiny altar in most asian restaurants - the teeth of the gods (bacteria) eat the food, releasing the energy over several days, the energy is consumed as the food begins to spoil, then it is time to replace the food - even the health inspector understands it is for the ancestors

In my experience, angels don't require offerings (nor do they want them). However, demons do.
