Scrying Interpretation, need help with an interpretation Options

hello, i am new to the forums, however i would like to describe myself as an avid scholar of occult things. i have recently began scrying with water on a regular basis. i will first describe my methods here, but i am specifically looking for an interpretation.

first, collection of fresh water at night (preferably on a full moon and from a stream or lake)

second, preparation of a clean area, with a clear glass bowl, candle, and ink or dye

third, acquisition of a branch to stir and vibrate the bowl

this event in reference was my first scrying attempt with a partner. as i am usually stirring the bowl or circling its rim with the branch to vibrate the water, so it is sometimes hard for me to focus and concentrate on the images in the water without losing focus on the act of stirring itself. i had begun the circling, and soon after my partner had gained some focus, he began to see distinct images. he specifically described seeing a woman in a doorway, and an animation of sorts, of her receding into the doorway and closing it shut. this was the first and only vision gained this night.

if anyone has any speculations, or has seen a similar image in the past, please let me know. i would like to find out if it may have any significance or be interpreted in a specific manner. thank you.

Obviously I can't say for certain, but to me it seems like he's being shown some form of knowledge that he needs to work for in some way - did he hear/feel anything as well as seeing this image? Or see any words etc?

It may be worth him meditating on the image and seeing if he can contact the woman passing through the doorway; while the woman herself may not have been a deity the actual image may have been a message from a deity and so meditating on it may allow him to contact that deity and gain an understanding of what he saw. I personally would probably meditate on it and attempt to open the doorway and pass through it, obviously staying protected whilst doing so.

That's a really cool method! I like how the water is collected from a pool reflecting the moon.

My thoughts:

Is there a specific purpose/intent behind your scrying practice? Maybe you deliberately wished to conceal this, and I can respect that. But if not...scrying usually takes place after some ritual or invocation intended to bring your consciousness (or to bring the energies from the universe) to bear on the vision seen. Otherwise, you might get some interesting information bubbling up from the unconscious, or even a reflection of the entities (whatever) that are most present, but it'll lack the same kind of direction.

I hear a lot of people's first experiences with scrying and the astral plane are actually a lot like what your seer saw...seemingly ambiguous day-to-day images. Thus it could be that it was the sign of a good start.

To interpret what you saw...try free associating to the thoughts surrounding "woman", "doorway", "passing through," letting whatever words come to mind be said or written down. This will at least elaborate the psychological constructs surrounding the vision, which could show what it's about on that level...and others...

Anyway, what say you?
