This sort of discussion is more coffee shop material than specifically left hand path, plus it's very broad and isn't so much a discussion about a particular tradition or its elements so much as a general discussion about magical successes. Hence, moved to coffee shop.
My most recent success was a talisman, which has so far granted much needed inspiration into the subtleties of establishing a small business, as well as somewhat miraculously dropping into my lap three professionals who I did not know previously, and who have all offered their useful skills to me free of charge "because they want to see someone like me start my own clinic."
When I say that I have been granted inspiration into these subtleties, I mean that I previously knew next to nothing about how to put together the kind of business plan that will get me the funding I need, and yet the process of putting together a rough draft has been deemed equal to a professional level of execution. There is not a small voice whispering in my ear, I don't commune with any spirit, etc., when I sit down to work I put the talisman on, and simply work on it, and it has turned out with an incredible ease (the business plan part was probably what I was most worried about, as a shoddy plan can cost you funding).
I account the three professionals as an effect of the talisman's work as well, I met a very successful marketing professional, a CPA, and another entrepreneur whose advice has already proved invaluable. One I met at a starbucks when he sat at my table while I was working on the first part, the other was a client who actually inquired as to whether I intended to open my own clinic at some point (I made the talisman as part of the overall preparation to do so), and the other I was introduced to by a friend who, to be fair, knew of my plan in advance of my meeting her CPA.

The world is complicated - that which makes it up is elegantly simplistic, but infinitely versatile.
