ok ok. i think just about everyone here probably has had a dream about the end of the world...it seems like there is a hush where people seek the answer; that is... no one is willing to give up the goods. I have to wonder...why? is it because there are so many different versions, and there is the good chance that if you share your "prophecy" you'd be deemed a nut? Or is it because you esteem your knowledge accurate and so secretive (because only YOU were granted the insight right...) that possibly telling anyone and everyone will trigger the events? um....yeah, whatever you DONT say dude.
the thing that CONCERNS me is not the common unspoken knowledge everyone seems to walk around with, shoved to the back of their minds, or the general unspoken agreement that one does not discuss such personal information on a forum (er...rather impersonal i would think). That is actually comforting in a weird way...what CONCERNS me is the fact that there are people (who i have met and talked with) who get obsessed and addicted to the idea. Ive studied this kind of attitude only from an outsider's perspective. What is so relevant in the fact that we will all die? I guess its the "all at once" bit. perhaps its the modern religious twist to it, a day of reckoning...its no longer the days when the end of the world could ever be considered an accident...somehow a fatalist point of view was attached to it. I think we all just need a good smack to put us back in our place. Doom Da doom doom... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/victory.gif)

PS. Hopefully ive riled up a couple of forum junkies...yeah! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yahoo.gif) get pumped!!!

Based on some of the conversations that Dee and Kelly had with angels in the 16th century (the Enochian system), I think it will be another 500, 1000, or 1500 years before history as we know it will come to an end. Also, I don't think it will be a fiery 'Apocalypse' but rather a spiritual shift in rulership. When you look at history, everyone makes extravagant prophecies, but when the prophecies are finally fulfilled, they aren't nearly as gaudy as everyone says it is. Just look at Jesus. The Jews said that the Messiah was going to come down from heaven, riding chariots of fire, gonna be a big badass King, burn all their enemies, and save the world.

*starts singing Silent Night, Holy Night*

Get it?

hehe, hierophants! they all want to see the end of the world.
argh!!!..then everyone since the coming of christ keeps sending up red flags. "This is the year, people! We're all gonna die!" yeah well okay...I'M gonna go fly a kite. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bigwink.gif)

well anyway...about the spiritual rulership thing...i agree with you. I DO strongly believe that. And im not even Enochian. But heres a thing...why do people think there is only gonna be one end of the world? I think there will be multiple ends. i mean, to be completely honest, the world reconstructs itself all of the time. That being said...Earth will probably remain long after we're gone, and if not well then ive drastically underestimated human importance...and THAT will be quite a shocker!...why does the death of one species have to incorporate a whole 'world'? The dinosaurs are all dead and Earth is just fine.

Given the history of life on this planet I think its safe to assume that at best we as a species can only hope to survive for several hundred million years. But the world, as in Earth, will not end for roughly 10 billion years when scientist think the sun will consume the inner planets. Now the question isn't if the world will end its will humans ever become extinct. And maybe even a more specific question is when will civilization as we know it come to an end.

In retrospect no multicellular animal has survived for more than several hunderd millions of years. Natural disasters, natural selection, changes in climate, over poputation, specialization and so on dictate that eventually a given animal will become extinct. Humans are different in that we can produce technology. Our unique ability to do this has made evolve into a species of specialist. If history has any merit once an animal becomes a specialist it will become extinct. Polar bears for example are specialist in artic survival. But their inability to adapt in light of climate changes means that sooner or later the only place you will see polar bears is in the zoo.

We are specialist in that we must consume resources to maintain our technological world. While we depend on technology we have not lost our ability to adapt. Because of this humanity has the potential to survive for a long time, even in light of natural disasters and climate change. No other multicellular organism is likely to evolve to be at the top of the food chain and if one does it will have evolved from us (homo-superior or uber-menche).

Our species will likely go on for many more millions of years. Not all the neclear weapons on the planet could wipe out every last pocket of humanity and scientist believe as few as 100 humans can live without becoming extinct. The problem we face right now is over population and the radical affect we're having on the environment. With our pollution and ever growing need for more resources we run the risk of reaching a crittical point where civilization as we know it can no longer exist. The only option is a mass conflict over what remains of resources. Of course, imo, the world would be more likely to unify and work to correct the problem before it was too late. Doesn't mean there still won't be conflict and war is enevitable. but I have faith that our efforst towards globalization will allow us to adapt and survive.

So if no disease, natural disaster, moderate climate change or more evolved species can't kill us off then what will?

Aliens. I truely believe that if ET made themselves known then we as a species are in trubble. As history as shown generally speaking the more advanced civilizations conquer, subjugate and erradicate the technologically inferior. The arrival of aliens could indicate a change in our role as the dominant species on this planet. Of course the exact opposite may be true too and the change, while still radical, could be for the better of our species.

well of course, acid...silly! The swifty moving hand of God. SOMETHINGS got to kill us off. (I placed a bet...geez)
Lets see:
famine, 80s fashion comeback, disease, drought, ice caps melting, idiots....numerous ways to die, but you are right that humans are pretty darn hard to get rid of.
that is why either alien invasion, or godly intervention is essential.

The end of one age; the dawn of another. Creation, birth, life, death, destruction, rebirth. It's the natural cycle of everything. All life dies eventually, and from death comes life. It is the endless wheel of destiny spinning through eternity, and man is just taking a dizzy ride on the flywheel through the ages.

Now this is slightly offtopic, but it relates. Some Hebrew and Christian scholars believe that there was a race on earth created before humans, though little is known of them. They were also thought to be ruled by Lucifer before his fall, because Isiah mentions Lucifer saying "I will raise my throne above the stars." Lucifer had to have a throne in the first place for him to actually try to raise it. It is also thought that this race was destroyed by a flood, but noone was spared from this one, after which God "moved upon the face of the waters" in Genisis 1:2 to recreate the earth.

Now this is just conjecture, but this pre-human society may have followed Lucifer when he rebelled, becoming today's demons. The number of angels that were created were actually far fewer than was originally thought, thus the number of angels that fell would also be fewer in number. The true angels that fell from Heaven itself became powerful rulers called Principalities that ruled over divisions of this fallen race, which would explain the numbers in the demonic ranks and the fact that there is such a chasm of a difference in power between regular demons and Principalities.

Also interesting to note is how similar this is to the story that the Muslims tell of the origins of the Djinn. The Djinn were created before humans and were made from fire the way man was made from clay. The Djinn also have 9 orders in which rulership is constructed like a pyramid; the few strong ones are at the top and the numerous weak ones are at the bottom. The descriptions of these orders is not unlike some of the things that some rabbis and Christian scholars theorize about the pre-human society ruled by Lucifer before his fall. For example, the descriptions of the Marid and Ifrit (the highest of the Djinn) are similar to the descriptions of powerful angels in the Bible and the fallen angels in Demonolitry.

I sense a common thread here...

Regardless, despite my long (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blablabla.gif) , my point is that creation and destruction is a natural perpetuating cycle that will continue forever, whether or not we are around to see it.

I hope the end of the world is cool.
Like a fictional end of the world.

Like at the end of 'Chronicles of Narnia' when everyone went into the 'real Narnia' and it was quite nicer than the imitation of Narnia.
I want our world to end like that.
Like a big beautiful lion comes and decided who's worthy and takes us into the real world, which is strangely familiar to our own but more gorgeous and then we roll around and live happily ever after.

Or maybe we could have a 'end of the world' reminiscent of those artistic dramatizations of medieval wars and everyone is good looking and rugged and we fight to the death with such valour and we all seem quite majestic. But then we all kill each other.

That would be definitely cooler than a more realistic end of the world...due to..like something to do with the environment

If thats what it really comes down to then there really isn't much point in worrying about it because there is little we can do to stop it. Only cower at our own demise. It'd be be more productive to try and fix the shit we've broken and hope Jesus has mercy on us.

Sarena...i only wish...your right...dying from global warming is a lot less glamorous than doing battle with fiery sword while gods are throwing lightning bolts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lightning.gif) and a giant wolf is swallowing up everything. i actually had a dream like that once...it was just a dream but it was WAY cool.

acid-why try to fix something that was never broken?...er. i didnt do it! It was him! ehem.
stop it? whose trying to stop it? It seems to me there are people on this forum trying to start it. but whatever...ill be old when it happens. let my grandkids figure it out! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wheelchair.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sun.gif)

Strange. For me the six pics automatically rearranged to become two across and three down when I entered the post.

Posted a graphic several times over that would have giving someone a nightmare to load this page if they were on dial up maybe. And it hurt my eyes and just annoyed me when it displayed as one big ole string of images and not as you appearantly had posted it originally. And it would have caused the end of the world too as any god who saw the same display would get pissed off and murder off the planet. Just don't do it again.

And try to use some tact when posting images we have minors lurking about and I'd be willing to bet not many members want to see that image (except for us two (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dribble.gif) ). Man I know I sound like an a$%*#!* for real bro but I gotta take out that picture cuz if I didn't Kinjo would probably chew off both our heads. I guess if you disagree with this action you can always take it up with Kinjo or one of the other admin. Umm maybe review our guidelines on posting appropriate content my friend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/offtopic.gif)
