Hey guys,

Sorry, but can anyone give me the necessary steps for putting a picture in one's signature. Please forgive this quick short liner post.

Kindly,

Mr. Curi

You see, I have tried to put a picture in the display box by copying and pasting it, but it simply does not show up. If anyone can help with the steps it'd be very helpful. I'm trying to get it to work. By the way, the picture was not very large, so I don't think that's necessarily the problem.

Hi friend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Here you go.

1. Go to www.tinypic.com (or your preferred free image hoster), hit the "Browse" button at the site, and upload the image you want to place in your signature. When it is finished uploading, you'll notice a set of links to copy and paste. Choose one.

2. Go to My Controls here at S-M.

3. To your left, go to Edit Signature

4. Click on the Insert Image button.

5. Paste the link to your Image into the pop up box provided. Press Okay.

6. Press the Update My Signature button

7. Marvel at your wonderful new signature picture.

Instead of using external image hosting, you can also take advantage of the space allocated to you with the new SM Gallery feature by making a personal photo album and simply link that pic to your signature.

Hey,

Thanks for your help. A problem though. When I put in the URL and click 'okay' and update my signature I keep getting a box that says IPG (does this mean JPG) with a bix red X next to it as though it is not permitting me to put it in my signature. What do you think might be going on?

Sincerely,

Mr. Curi

Good idea Kinjo!

As for what's happening Mr. Curi, perhaps the photo is too large for SM? I believe SM tells you what the file size limit is that you can post, though I forgot, so, I'm sure you can check it out friend because I think you can see it in the Edit Signature box, at least before you upload a pic.
