From my long hours spent modifying photos for fun, I'd say that one was a fake... but only just (it's a very good one). The easiest tell-tale is where the spirit meets the rail. It's fudged.

There's another slightly less obvious tell-tale, which one could only notice if one really thought hard about it. The background's black and white (not to mention that it's been slightly desaturated). The foreground's in colour. If that was a photo, it wouldn't be possible - even at night, there'd be a little bit of colour in the background, and there definitely wouldn't be gray leaves. In fact, you'd be able to see a whole lot less in the background than you currently can, mainly because the colours would either stand out or look very close to black.

Pity.

The value of an individual is not numerically assignable. Given the individual's infinite capacity to affect change (for better or for worse), it follows that their value is just as infinite. Logically then, not only are all individuals of equal value, but all possible combinations and groupings of individuals are of equal value, and finally, no matter an individual's past actions, their capacity to affect positive change is not diminished.

The value of the individual is sacrosanct, but actions must be directed in an effort to affect positive change.

Also, the spirit is also too clear and sharp for a real spirit. It should be more foggy shouldnt it.

Looks like "the ring" IMO (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

It brings up a interesting subject tho, can we see enteties with our physical eyes and is this something that exists in the material world or higher worlds but our mind/soul/whatever projects it unto this world (since they are connected...)

and if we can see them, can they be caught on film so that everyone can see it (even tho they couldnt usually).

So if it's real, it means that they are basically visible to everyone anywhere, only that we choose not to see them.

Reminds me of 'death' from the discworld series, very nice. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/offtopic.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'd say fake tho

Yeah, I saw that and thought "Sadako".

There was something else I should have remembered on the "background is black and white" point - flash. It's quite obvious that the camera has a flash - check out the face of the person closest to the camera. Do you notice though, that the background isn't lit up by it?

You are brilliant Zahagiel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ac42.gif)

The people I know that have seen ghosts say that they either do not see the full figure or if they do, it is hazy, so the ghost fails on these points for me.

You notice these things when you spend your spare time doing pics for friends. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

lol - the third one I had to completely rebuild too, otherwise it'd still be looking straight ahead, instead of at the camera.

Anywho... we're getting off-topic. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/butcher.gif)

No idea. I've seen a lot of spirits that like to hang around trees, but dryads specifically, not a clue.

Greetings!
I've never known a dryad to appear corpselike. They aren't human but when they adopt humanlike form they are usually very fair to look upon. I've never seen a photo of one though have encountered them along a certain river I know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That looks more like the freaky girl that comes out of the TV from the movie "The Ring" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif).

Yes, Sadako on the O Ring movie is what exactly "kuntilanak" or local ghost/dyrad looks like. They don't kill like in the movie though, but they reported to scare off a lot of people and sometimes gives nightmares, temporary possesion, and fever/sickness - these spirits mostly found in small villages/country side in Indonesia and Malaysia. They supposed to be a nature spirit of a tree, but the myth and local superstition says that they are the demonic manifestation of a mother who died while giving birth.

yeahhhhhhhh...... doesn't sound like someone i'd wanna meet in an alley, or ever.

But as for the picture, i'm gonna say fake, i can only see the second one but it could easily just be a girl wearing a blanket. They need some better proof then this, something to really clarify that it is a spirit.
