Greetings!
Could you please explain just what a 'kiffilpot' is? I'm not familiar with the word.

Greetings!
Is this from Kenneth Grant, OTO or what? The word is totally new to me.
There has been alot of discussion and work done on the subject of a Tree of Evil. One of the books I know of is Kenneth Grants, "Cults of the Shadow" and Grays, "Tree of Evil". Anybody care to comment? This Tree has been described as being on the obverse side of the Tree of Life. Da'ath appears to fall between Tiphareth and Kether, Binah anf Chokmah, on the Middle Pillar. I know the word he is referring to.
but it is spelled entirely different.
I think it should be "Klippoth"

Something with "evil" however is correct.

But the exact meanings of it are far in the back of my head, i can't remember correctly.

Of course! Thanks Fox! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
It's the Qlippoth or the Shells....These are the energy 'leftovers' from the Sephiroth. Each sephirothic sphere have a qlippothic residue. Think of the spheres as having a balanced form of energy. The Qlippoth of that sphere represent the unbalanced energies. Chesed would be abundance and its qlippothic side would be gluttony. Yes, the explanation is actually far more complex...

Has anyone here studied the Qlippoth? Or wandered into the Land of Shells?

I have studied the kliffot briefly.

They can be viewed as zones of experience wherefrom experience may be useful for understanding and interacting with the universe :-)

I recently read one cool description of K Grants work - it said that Kenneth Grant had separated out everything that is interesting from the three of life and dubbed it the nightside - hence explaining how Kenneth Grants work is so interesting! (This is hardly correct - but interesting)

A K. Grant officianado, eh? I have made a point of collecting EVERYTHING by this man and by (my hero) AOSpare....... At first I was excited by Grants work...and alot of his earlier stuff is very good. Then, as Grant gets older, he starts to drift on the unseen tides that he has delved into and, as a result, has found himself right in line for the looney awards. He is almost incoherent! I'd be very careful schlubbing around the Tunnels of Set if I were you! They will give the Goetic spirits a run on evil.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000037.gif)

Re K grant I couldn't (respectfully) disagree more with you - he gets better and better as he gets older. the ninth arch is the ultimate. perhaps reality is closer to insanity than most would like to think (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Re kliffot I couldn't agree with you more. the energies there are much more "evil" as percieved from a normal human beings point of view than the niceguys of the goetia. your warning was a tad late however as I am already transformed. - or to quote the nice girl in medevil dead - "I may be bad - but I feel Good!"

I thought they were leftovers from creation, energies/worlds/spheres of existence that Elohim couldn't get rid of.
They are not part of creation they stand apart from it, loose from the tree. The light of the Elohim does not reach there, who knows what dwells in such realms.

That is, if i remember correctly, i seem to remember this vaguely.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wizard.gif) Daath can be gleaned as the gate to the reverse side of the Tree Of Life; the 'negative', 'dark' or 'evil' tree which exists behind the outward tree of life ... this reverse side is the world of the QLIPPOTH (or in singular, Qlipha).

These are the 'demons' (literal meaning is Harlot) or shells of the positive energies.

Everything positive has a negative side.

The Qlippoth radiate negative qualities; the reverse of the positive qualities f the front side of the tree of life. Thus love will become hate and joy will be sorrow.

Thus the vices of the Sephiroth (spheres) on the tree of life will technically be the qlippothic forces.

Demons are said to inhabit the averse Sephiroth ... averse in that they cannot be considered to be independant spheres .... instead they will be the unbalanced and destructive aspects.

There are two types of evil:-

Positive evil ... which moves against the current of evolution and will be destructive to progress and change.

Negative evil ... inclusive of all opposition, blocks, restrictions to free movement.

Both types of evil can manifest in two forms; that of unconscious or conscious. Where unconscious evil is one which occurs from carelessness, blindness or stupidity but not with any conscious intent. Conscious evil is one which is done purposely; for its own sake and with malice.

Qlipothic entities - demons, vampires, succubi, ghouls etc - can seep through in all the Sephiroth on the tree. They do not cross the Abyss. They will also be present as the negative side of each positive Sephiroth quality. They are especially prone to come into consciousness through sexual imagination. Yesod is therefore an important ingress point for their influence since Yesod is associated with the entities of the lower unconscious - the creatures of dreams and lower astral.

It was once believed that qliphotic entities prolonged their existence by preying on the vital fluids (semen and vaginal excretions) of their victims. This is maybe the origin of the term 'vampire' which exists on blood.

It is true that there are phantom forms created by sexual fantasy which exist within the Qlippoth.

It is maybe also true that contact with these entities can be beneficial if directed with clarity and clear purpose. Intentional contact with the Qlippoth for balance and positive growth can make full use of the ingress through Yesod. Also a form of passive love making known as Karezza is a known way of contact; also through the suppression of orgasm.

But primary contact is through Daath. This will lead to contact with Choronzon - the primary force in the Qlippoth. The positive rewards for this working will out weigh the dangers with the contact made with this entity.

~

It is perhaps the left over pieces of the original Primal Worlds of creation which have become the Qlippoth.

I have personally done some wanderings theirin (bet you coudln't have guessed that LOL), and used it as a tool to explore my own inner workings, shells, things I sometimes like to avoid etc. As far as their existance as an external macrocosmic force I have no idea, that was not how I worked with them. On a microcosmic level however I learned a lot, and got the shit scared out of me a few times LOL.
I enjoy some of Grant's concepts as far as the tunnels of Set go, but wane kind of lost and uninterested with his books in general.

Greetings,

More food for thought:

Aleister Crowley's "Liber 231" is a key to the Nightside of the Tree. I would venture to say that it was probably the inspiration for Grant's work in this area. Grant's "Nightside of Eden" goes into great detail on working with the Averse Genii of "Liber 231".

Another great book is the Shadow Tarot by Linda Falorio, she did a pretty good job of reifying the various "Tunnels of Set" via her version of the Nightside Tarot.

Has anyone here done any detailed workings with Liber 231?

its an old concept, but all things must be in balance, even creation, hence the negative reflection of the positive tree in the pool of radiance

the higher you go on either tree, the more powerful the monkeys get

either can kick your arse and teach you somethingin the process

the chachras (spelling?), or the tree put inside the man, also has a mirrored, negative side within the man

thus keeping the man in balance else he falls apart through entropy and the second law of thermodynamics

i read about working with qlippoth by some 'spider web' technique, but i cant find it now, wasnt really anything specific or practical, but i have this (i hate making long posts, and really dislike copy/pasting, but i think this isreally interesting on this subject)

GLYPH OF THE SPIDER GODDESS

by Tenebrous

Arachne, the Spider Goddess, was a figure who held a position of key
importance in the Draconian cults of the ancient world. In the mayan
death-cults, she manifested as Ix-Chel, `the spider that catches the Dew
of Morning', and Ix-Tab, `Goddess of Ropes and Snares, patroness of those
who hang themselves.' Today, in her embodiment via the Voudoun Loa Anansi,
she is the supreme totem of the Obeah cults of African and West Indian
sorcery.

The glyph of the Spider Goddess represents that magickal power of the
priestess which enables her to open a gateway to another universe. `She is
the Guardian of the Pylon that admits to its mysteries, for she is the
kala, or coulour, that manifests the vibrations of time (KALI) as the
secretion' (Kenneth Grant, Outside the Circles of Time). The third eye of
Kali is vertical, symbolising the visionary and dream-inducing power of
the vagina in its `dark' or menstrual phase. It may also suggest a
connection between the Ajna and Muladhara chakras in the subtle body
(centred at the pineal gland and the genital regions respectively) and the
sephiroth of Chokmah and Yesod on the qabalistic Tree of Life.

The thread of the spider, which it uses to incapacitate and immolate its
prey, thus corresponds with the noose of Kali, and the cord used by her
devotees, the Thugs, to perform their ritual assasinations. In the
arachnid, the thread is produced from the region of the reproductive
organs - here again, the connection is indicated between sex and death
(Time). The female genitalia seen in its aspect of `vagina dentata.'

In his occult novel, Our Lady of Darkness, Fritz Leiber writes:

``...the exterior female genitalia were thought of as a spider.
the tendrilled blot of hair? The mouth that opened vertically
like a spider's jaws instead of horizontally like a human
face's lips... it involved the time to spin a web, the spiders
clock.''

Her web is is a diagram or yantra of the structure which permeates the
outer darkness, and delinates the cells of the Qlippoth on the other side
of the Tree; `not in the spaces we know, but between them'. Its spokes
are the kalas of the Priestess, irradiating space with their subtle
effluvia. This glyph (which can be sigilised as an eye placed vertically
within a downward pointing black triangle) therefore indicates a technique
whereby the influx of the magickal current of the Nu Aeon can be
facilitated (Number os the Goddess = 58 = KLChK = `licking up').
