Be very careful with this. I used to mess around with Ouija boards a lot as a kid; what we discovered was that doing that too often, had a tendency to open and anchor permanent vortexes into the lower aetheric. Once you've got one of those open, pretty much anyone who feels like it can come through, whenever they want; including when you're not using the board. That is not something you want to experience.
It's a great technique, and I can definitely see myself utilising it as well some time, but I'd recommend coming up with a formula for a corresponding banishing or sealing of the veil, as well. If you don't do that, you're likely to have a problem where either energy from the plane in question can keep seeping through, which can mess with your elemental balance, or worse, actual entities.
I don't claim to have had nearly as much practical experience as some of the people on this board, but I have had a couple of operations go south. Generally speaking, it happens because I haven't paid enough attention to cleaning up after myself. You need to be very precise when it comes to determining your intentions or goals with magick in general, and it is also very important to make sure that you don't leave any doors open. Operations are bookended by banishings for a reason; and if you get into evocation in particular, you'll likely learn what that reason is. (IMG:
