Is there a way to use the enochian system for practical purposes? Most of the books I have read are more geared to obtaining occult knowledge and the like, but I have never seen anything devoted for spell work or whatnot.

I'm pretty sure this has been covered in a previous thread. Of course Enochian can be used for practical purposes. Any form of magic can be used for any purpose really. Same as the GD for example, Enochian has elemental aspects, planetary aspects, entities with specific specialties etc. etc. There are also seals, healing talismans etc. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Check out my site, I have an article specifically dedicated to practical Enochian magic: www.nightshademagic.com/enochian.html

There *will* be a book out on practical Enochian soon (I finally found an editor <g>).

I recommend that you get Geoffrey James' Enochian evocation book. There is a lot of information on how to work Enochian in a practical way in that book.
Basically, people are used to everything all laid out for them like a cookbook. Enochian isn't like that, so people figure that they can't do spells with it.
Encohian is VERY spell friendly however!

Thanks for the information, I will check out your site. Good luck on the editing of your book. Hopefully it won't be too terribly tedious for your editor. I know from personal experience that the editing part is the most troublesome and time-consuming. I can't wait to read the book! I'm currently taking classes from the famous Christeos Pir on the subject of enochian. He seems pretty knowledgable on the subject, but again we are only at the technical breakdown of the various systems of enochian(begining overview). It has really sparked my attention and I am grabbing everything I can find on the subject.

Thanks again

Yes, Christeos Pir is very knowledgeable on the subject! Enjoy the classes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Are you fortunate enough to be getting them in person?

Yes! I live in Dallas, texas and I drive 3 hours to join his classes monthly. I just started them so...

I can tell you that I already had an interesting scrying/meditaion experience I did on my own. I don't know what it means, but it is a very active force. In fact I didn't even have to concentrate on scrying, I just started to flow.

(snippet from my livejournal)Well it looks like I'm in the market for a shewstone now too. I found my shewstone on the floor with chips in it. Aparently it fell off the cubed base and landed ontop of a candleholder on the floor. I am very disappointed. I don't know if it was my cat Mojo or well the supernatural. I'm betting on the more rational side. I love my cat but he is very curious when it comes to the occult. I did manage to get good results out of it with a scrying/meditaion on ORO IBAH AOZPI. I find that the images come in when gazing at the globe, then I close my eyes and mental images flow in much clearer.

Images of a white cube with gold metalic edging. It rotated in a clockwise horizontal and clockwise vertical(hard to explane). A field came into veiw behind it..blue skies and green rolling hills. It looked a little cartoon like not as reall as physical reality. It looked very spring like in scenery. I recall seeing a stone throne with a tapestry behind it. the tapestry had a design on it, but I forgot to record it so it is lost now I suppose....

I dunno what it means, but it seems like the enochian words do evoke something. I mean I didn't even have to try so much to scry, it is almost like it all happened for me. All I did was try not to focus on scrying and let the images come to me..
(end snippet)

what I am curious is what do the angels actualy mean when refering to the subelemental uses. Are they literal or metaphorical?

The whole not focusing on skrying was the key there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The subelemental uses as in the angels of Transportation, Healing, precious metals and stones etc? Aside from that they do not discuss sub elements.
I beleive the angels from the above example and the other sub elemental areas are actual, not metaphorical. Also, healing for example is not under one sub element as in modern magics, the angels are from all 4 of the different elemental sections.
