Well, this is one of the books that started the eastern wave into the United States and probably the western idealogy. Shakti Gawain gives every some very nice guided meditations that can help fulfill our wishes and desires. Replete with everything from a get what you want visualization, a higher self meditation visualization and a forgivement mediation as well as a being forgiven visualization. All the visualization instructions are about as simple as one can hope for. My personal favorite is the writing affirmation, where you write down what you want x number of times and everytime your train of thought breaks you flip over the page and write down what you were thinking. This can be very revealing not to mention powerful. I give this book three out of four stars, a great introduction to visualization. I would give it three and a half but the newly released version isn't fan friendly. The original is only seventy small pages and the cost was five of six dollars. Newer version is basically the same but costing sixteen dollars, used bookstores are the place to go and you might obtain one for a dollar or less.

I'd like to echo the sentiments of this post. Even though this seems like a humble little "newage" (rhymes with sewage) book, in my humble opinion it is very good groundwork for anyone starting out on any kind of magickal path whatsoever. I have often recommended this to folks just starting out with Tarot.

The ability to meditate, ground, and visualize is an important component of all magickal/divinational work. Learning the techniques in this book can really do a lot for aspiring occultists of all stripes.
