I have been working with Simons Necronomicon now for around three years. I just follow the guide as its written in the Nec Spell book, but I use bits from the actual Nec by Simon to spice it up. For instance, I use the Invocation of the Powers and the seals of the gates in the four quarters. I have had a lot of great results with the 50 names of Marduk, most notable was the evocation of Ziku. However, I have never summoned them to actual visual manifestation, such as with Goetic entities etc, and my question is, have any of you (I'm mainly looking for a responce from Nero and Ashnook) ever done this, and what were their appearences like to you? The closest I have ever come to visual manifestation of these entites have been in dreams, but never in the ritual chamber.

I have had physical manifestations only once which I discussed in my evocation of Zulum. Before that happened I wasn't even sure if it was possible, but I was proven wrong. I have heard more stories of physical stuff when dealing with the Nec than with other texts such as the goetia so I am not sure what the deal is.

I have worked with the goetia a number of times and in the beginning I had no physical manifestations at all. At first I would often attempt different ways to "see" the spirit. After a year I finally had my first visual experience with BUER. The best description I can give at that time was that it appeared that the air in the triangle seemed to be oily. Almost of the same way that heat waves that appear over fires(not the smoke). I could see the wall on the other side of the substance and was almost perfectly clear. This is sort of a weird description but it was almost like clear jello. At this point I could only see a sort of shapeless outline although I could get a better idea of it by looking at it mentally. What i found was that after this experience the physical appearance of each spirit became more and more defined and now I can see more detail and characteristics. I can't really give any techniques on how to see it because for me it just happened after performing multiple evocations. Probably it just takes time and for myself i had come to the conclusion that i would never see it. I can't say that it is a real physical manifestation because no one else has been able to see it unless involved with the ritual and I can't photograph it but I think part of it was that after many times of "feeling" it's presence i finally saw it. It was one of the most dramatic shocks of my magickal career and had major effects on all my workings. The Nec might be totally different but those are my goetia experiences and other evocations(elementals, angels, gods)have been similar.

The first time I summoned Gilma it was a physical manifestation. I could see in the physical his outline and if looking hard enough the rest of him in an orangish color though he was still very hard to see.

Very interesting, but what did Gilma look like? Humanoid, just a shape, a monster (ie, Goetia like), mist/vapour, alien-like, or what?

Is physical manifestation important to the end result of evocation? How do you measure you evocation success? Do we still get the result we asked even if there's no - little physical manifestation?
I did an evocation last week which I get a lilttle manifestation and result on the very next day. I just did another one last night but no/little manifestation to note. Probably I'm a bit dissapointed since I don't really experience anything this time but I'm curious whether the evocation is a success or not.

Manifestation is not a guide to success with evocation. It can be but does not garentee it. The spirit can be present and you just not notice. Or the spirit can show up in a tower of flame and just not give you what you ask for due to various reasons.
Physical Manifestation is exciting but it should not be the goal. Success and safety should be the goal.
