Nec Communication Options

I'm not sure if it matters what entity I try to communicate with, since I'm not evoking it. If it does, please correct me. I figured I'd try an entity from the Necronoicon since I have a lot of interest in it, but I was unsure of something. I know they can be dangerous, and since I'm not evoking it, can is still cause any harm to me?

Well, actually, I don't think I'll be doing that for a while... I'm still confused about my method. I tried contacting any nearby entitry earlier, and I can get to the point where I lose my reflection, but I do this by staring at one spot, and my eyes start to burn... I don't think I'm doing it right... if I am, I have no idea how I'm going to be able to keep that long enough to talk to an entity...

If you're afraid then you won't get far. Be strong and sure of yourself and you will succeed. The 50 Names of Marduk are on the whole benevolent, but can be mischievous, I think that it is the fear of the system that leads to people failing and getting very bad results. As Ashnook has said, learn a banishing and purfect it before jumping in if you really want to be safe. I would suggest the Gnostic Pentagram Ritual (Google it for details, or buy and read Liber Kaos by Carroll) or the solar grounding ritual by I AM. Read through the pinned thread at the top of this board and practice what you are comfortable with.

Heh, no... I'm not afraid. I'm actually excited about working with the Nec... I can't wait. But I'm not having trouble with fear or the names, I'm having trouble with my scrying... I know this is off topic, (and very noobish), but when I scry, I stare at the same spot until the mirror goes black. But this burns my eyes, and is very hard to do for more than a few seconds... I don't think I'm doing it right, and every source that has info about scrying is written by pagans and consists of little poems to say...

You are never meant to keep your eyes open all the time while skrying, alow yourself to blink, otherwise you can get infections and a HELL of a lot of pain. By and read Frater U.'.D.'.'s High Magic, andpractice the magical gaze techniques to strengthen your eyes.

Ive read and tried countless techniques on developing skyring abilities...and for the most part none worked for me. When in ritual just set your mirror and gaze at it as if you KNOW the entity is there. As your magickal path progresses so will your ability to skyre...simple as that. The same is true for many magickal "powers", as your path progresses many of them will start to manifest. If you stay on one "power" too long without doing magick, most likely you will either get fustrated and quit or become stagnated.

Hi. I just though I'd throw in my 2 cents. Oddly enough, I find myself resorting to staring a lot. But one night I got better results when I stopped to scratch my foot during skrying then when I was intensely staring at the mirror. I think you have to let it come naturally. Don't take my word for it though.
