With the growing interest in translating Tolkien's works into something more than fantasy, and the current creationist furor, might we not in future see the `Sil' taught in schools as an alternative creationist legend, [oophs sorry truth.]

this site is new and has some interesting links.

http://www.thehiddenrealm.org/

The Tolkienist Legendarium Elven Awakening, an E-group in which the members are in the process of re-creating the original spirituality of the Elves (or at least as close as we can) , and in particular of the "Quendi" or the Elves described in JRR Tolkien's collective Arda or Middle Earth writings, also known as the Legendarium.

Thanks for the info SaintGeorge!

I just went to the site and it didn't seem very realistic! Its called "The Tolkienist Legendarium Elven Awakening" I don't know much about Tolken, other then the fact that he wrote fictonal story books.

But I didn't go to any of the links... Is this some sort of Chaos site?

Ooops! One Liner. If you have nothing to say, there is no need to post. Didn't the site stir up any thoughts at all? Is there anything else you could add re the site?

Hmmm...
I LOVE Tolkiens work! I think that his amazing stories taken to new horizons as the starting of a new faith is sad and yet compelling. In our present day turmoils of plutarcrasies-run-amok it doesn't surprise me to see people turning toward this mythbased fantasy to establish a new spiritual order. I wonder how many other faiths had their beginnings in just this way?
On a side note, it would be truly awesome for the film makers to FAITHFULLY reproduce one of the stories in Tolkiens Silmarillion (example: The Simarills). I'd even like them to produce The Hobbit...FAITHFULLY! The last epic of the Rings was not faithful and as such, IMHO, a let down... Hollywood writers can't hold a candle to a master storyteller! One wonders why they didn't use Christopher Tolkien as the consultant? *sigh* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused012.gif)
